Re: Number of attempts allowed for CAT and MAT exam?
As you know that Common Admission Test(CAT),
and the Management Aptitude Test(MAT), are both entrance examinations for the entry into the MBA courses of the various Business schools across the country, with CAT being the most premier of the entrance tests. The eligibility for CAT and MAT is: Candidate must be a graduate in any field from a recognized university can apply for the exam. Also, candidates in the final year of the graduation can apply. No. Of attempts: There is no restriction in the number of attempts, and a candidate can appear any number of times he wants. Infact, many candidates appear every year just to check their aptitude rather than with the intention of getting admission. |

NUMBER ATTEMPTS FOR CAT AND MAT EXAM There is no restriction in attempting the CAT ( Common Admission Test ) and MAT ( Management Aptitude Test ) exam. -> The main reason behind this is the exam is really competitive and to get the top marks it needs a lot of hard work and sometimes many number of attempts too.. -> I have heard some of friends taking break for a year just to improve their CAT score.. so basically there is no restriction for the no. of attempts. -> CAT exam is conducted Indian Institutes of Management ( IIMs) and MAT exam is conducted by All India Management Association in which both of the exam will be more competitive. -> CAT exam pattern consists of questions from Quantitative Ability, Data interpretation and English ( Verbal / Reading Comprehension ) -> MAT exam pattern consists of questions from Mathematics, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, English Usage and GK/GA/BA. -> MAT exam is conducted for 4 times every year. -> To write CAT exam you must have 50 % in your UG degree. -> I have attached the CAT syllabus in this post.. which might help you out for further preparation... hope the info. helps.. |

Re: Number of attempts allowed for CAT and MAT exam?
Quote:
While CAT is only conducted for once every year in the month of October-November, MAT exam is only conducted for four times every year- February, May, September and December. CAT uses a 3-4 weeks window to conduct the exam. Before 2009 CAT was a pen and paper test but after that it has strictly become online and it is conducted in multiple cities now at multiple centres. MAT is a both paper based test and computer based test. MAT paper based test is conducted on one single day, the computer based test might take a bit more time than that depending on the number of applicants. MBA is a post graduate course therefore to pursue this course you need to be a graduate. The stream you choose does not matters but the percentage you secure definitely goes on to decide whether you are eligible for all the MBA entrance exams on offer or not. For CAT Exam you need to have 50% of marks at graduation level in aggregate. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks in aggregate. But if you have low marks which is below 50% then you can sit for MAT which in that respect is open to all because any candidate with just the pass marks can sit for this exam. The minimum percentage to obtain has not been mentioned therefore 40% of marks at grad level is more than enough. Both CAT and MAT can also be given by the final year candidates who are just about to sit for their final qualifying exam or is waiting for their results to come out. They will be given provisional admission only. During the interview sessions original mark sheets needs to be shown to prove that you have passed successfully. Quote:

Re: Number of attempts allowed for CAT and MAT exam?
Dear Friend,
The Acronym "CAT" stands for Common Admission Test whereas the acronym "MAT" stands for Management Aptitude Test. The Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Institute Of Management for the admission of candidates in the top IIMs as well as MBA Colleges to pursue the MBA Course. The CAT Exam is considered as one of the toughest examinations conducted once every year. The Qualifications Required for CAT are : * The candidate must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * The candidate must have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks. * SC/ST Candidates get a relaxation of 5% marks. * There is no age limit for the CAT Exam. * Candidates pursuing Final year graduation can also appear in the CAT Exam. * There is no any fixed number of attempts for this exam as the candidates are free to give the exam as many times as they want. About MAT Exam : * The MAT Exam is conducted four times in a year by the AIMA [All India Management Association]. * The Exam is conducted in the months of February, May, September and December. * The Educational Qualification Required is same as that of CAT. * There is no age limit as well as no fixed number of attempts for this exam just like that of CAT Exam. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
