You can apply for Both these examination Number of times. The CAT Exam are held only 1 time in a year And MAT exam was held 4 times in a year.

NUMBER ATTEMPTS FOR CAT AND MAT EXAM

There is no restriction in attempting the CAT ( Common Admission Test ) and MAT ( Management Aptitude Test ) exam.

-> The main reason behind this is the exam is really competitive and to get the top marks it needs a lot of hard work and sometimes many number of attempts too..

-> I have heard some of friends taking break for a year just to improve their CAT score.. so basically there is no restriction for the no. of attempts.

-> CAT exam is conducted Indian Institutes of Management ( IIMs) and MAT exam is conducted by All India Management Association in which both of the exam will be more competitive.

-> CAT exam pattern consists of questions from Quantitative Ability, Data interpretation and English ( Verbal / Reading Comprehension )

-> MAT exam pattern consists of questions from Mathematics, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, English Usage and GK/GA/BA.

There will be not any restriction for the appear for the CAT or MAT examination. The eligibility to apply for the exam will be graduation in any firld of education from any recognize university.
There is also no any age restriction for this exam. Both CAT and MAT are entrance exam for the admission in MBA. So you can appear number of times.

But if you have low marks which is below 50% then you can sit for MAT which in that respect is open to all because any candidate with just the pass marks can sit for this exam. The minimum percentage to obtain has not been mentioned therefore 40% of marks at grad level is more than enough.

Both CAT and MAT can also be given by the final year candidates who are just about to sit for their final qualifying exam or is waiting for their results to come out. They will be given provisional admission only. During the interview sessions original mark sheets needs to be shown to prove that you have passed successfully.

CAT and MAT can be given for as many times you want. There is no restriction as such.
