If you are pursuing a bachelors degree program from a recognized university,whether through regular class or through distance, you can definitely write examinations conducted for the post of Sub-Inspector.
The examination is conducted by state level public service commission and since you haven't mentioned about the place you belong to, I am unable to give more information on the same. dear friend

if you are pursuing bachelor degree from a recognized university whether from a regular college or correspondence you are eligible for si post,

what you need is only to score the marks which is required for the psot,

correspondence or regular degree are equivalent for job point of view

Eligibility Criteria :

**Candidates having a degree from any recognized university can apply for the post of sub-inspector of police.

Physical Requirements :

**A initial 5 kilometer run which should be completed in 25 minutes (* impossible without practice)

**A long jump in which a candidate should jump a distance of 3.80 meters (* easy)

**A 100 meter sprint which should be completed in 15 seconds. (* easy)

**An 800 meter run which should be completed in 170seconds (* easy).

**A high jump in which a jump of 1.2 meters is required (* practice) and

**A shot put throw which should be thrown a distance of 5.60 meters (* practice makes it easy)

**
Selection Process:

**Through a series of physical ability tests followed by a written test.

exam pattern:

**English (Descriptive)

**Arithmetic

**test of reasoning

**Mental ability.

If you have completed your graduation from a recognised university, then you are eligible to appear in Sub-Inspection Examination.
Following are the eligibility criteria to appear in SI Exam -0

• Degree from recognised university.
• Your age must be in between 20 to 25 years.
• You must be an Indian citizen to appear in SI Exam.
• There are age relaxation for SC/ST/PwD and for OBC candidates.
• The

re are no minimum percentage criteria to appear in Sub-Inspector Exam.

As per my knowledge weather you studied from open or regular university is not a problem to get SI post.

As per My Knowledge Weather its Regular or Distance is a not a matter.Any one can try for SI Recruitment with recognized university Degree.
