There is no specific exam as IAS entrance exam.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

Minimum Qualification for IAS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The eligible candidate must be an Indian National.
-Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or passed in any stream from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

With the above minimum qualification an eligible candidate on application for Civil Service Exam, is called for a Preliminary exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test) followed by Civil Service Main Exam and the eligible candidate for IAS has been selected finally through Personal Interview.

To become an IAS officer you have to crack Civil Services examination.

The basic qualification needed for Civil Services examination is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

The age is also a criteria for applying. Hence your age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are General Category Candidate.

There is age relaxation available for other categories like OBC, SC/ST, PWD and Ex Servicemen.

The number of attempts are limited if you are General and OBC category with 4 and 7 attempts respectively.

For SC/ST category candidates there is no limit in attempts.

The examination will have three stages:

-Civil Services Preliminary Exam

-Civil Services Mains Exam

-Personal Interview

If you perform well and you are high on merit list then you will be selected as IAS officer post.
