percentage is requried in 12th for taking admision in n.i.t....

Hi dear..

For getting into NITs you don't need a cut off percentage in boards,but you have to get some marks in order to be eligible for AIEEE ( ALL India Engineering Entrance Examination)

Eligibility for AIEEE :-

--> Physics, Chemistry , Maths as compulsory subject in +2

--> Scored at least an aggregate of 60% in +2

Now if you want to get into any NIT, you have to crack AIEEE , getting a score in which, will decide your fate,

You should score something around 180 out of 360 to get into NIT (For GEN category)

AIEEE pattern :-

This is a multiple choice test, containing 4 options to each question, with +4 for each correct answer and -1 for each wrong answer, and no points deducted if answer un attempted .

There are a total of 90 questions, 30 from each Physics, chemistry and Maths.

i have got an average of 58% in PCM in my H.S examination.Can i get chance in a NIT college,i have already got chance with a good rank in jee mains/

It is not specific that you have to get certain JEE marks to get admission in NIT. It generally depends upon cut-off which goes high (which could be near 200). So, the more you score in JEE, the more are the chances for admission. But, don't worry, if you are unable to make it since there are other good options available where you should also try for admission. Some of them are: ITM, Lovely Professional University (LPU), PEC, Osmania......; as they also provide good education and have better infrastructure. I have 74% marks in 12th...so how many marks i will have to get in aieee for NITs...?

NITs provides admission on the basis of your performance/ranking in JEE(Joint entrance exam) and your 12th standard marks.
You need to score atleast 80% or above to get admission in NITs.
Rest also depends on cut off and your percentile that you obtain in JEE/AIEEE exam.
