It is a very good choice as you wanna go for Law study.
as you are interested in The Government Law College (GLC) ,Mumbai
then you can have this great chance.

The GLC offers the BLS(Bachelor of Legal Science), LLB which are five-year Integrated Law Course leading to a BLS, LLB Degree.

There is no entrance examination to take admission in Government Law College (GLC),Mumbai.

But there is a cut-off percentage for admission.

Yes, you can do law after 12th Commerece ..
(It doesn't matter what stream you come from. Though say you were a person who was just out of 10th asking this question then I'd recommend him to take the arts stream. *Hint for those who'd need this)
If you want to get admission in one of the most renowned colleges for law, you'll need to give CLAT. Unfortunately you can't sit for exam this year since the registration was long done, but you can pay attention for the next year.

(The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted by 14 National Law Schools/Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M). The 14 participating NLUs in the order of their establishment are:

Not all Law schools require the CLAT though. For some you can just get in through the cut-off. If you're sure you want to study law, then rather than graduation, pick up the 5 years course for LLB and then you can continue to LLM if you wish or directly start working. By going for LLB instead of graduating with other degree and then coming to LLB as an extra course, you save an year.

I suggest you to do commerce if your aim to become a Lawyer because you will pay more attention to get a marks as compare to science stream.
Educational: Minimum qualification You have the certificate of intermediate from any stream. Course duration is of 5 years and is sponsored by the Bar Council Of India.
There are various branches of specialisation in law like civil law, criminal law, corporate law, property law, income tax law, marine law, public international law, family law, labour law, press law, excise law, constitutional law etc... You can choose one among them.

see, firstly every stream of candidate after 12th can appear in the LLB exam.

but see if you can take Arts subjects then it will be best option for you.

also if you take political science subject then it will be a best option for you.

to do LLB after 12th. you have to give CLAT exam through which you can get chance to do LLB course.

but if you are not interested about arts subjects then commerce will best option for you.

Yes, you can do LLB after passing 2 years of commerce.there is no problem to do the course.

Law Course Eligibility Criteria
*B.A. L.L.B: This is a 5-year course and the students can pursue this course after passing Class 12.
*L.L.B.: This is a 3-year course, open for graduates.
*L.L.M.: This is a postgraduate course in Law. The duration of the course is 2year. Students can pursue this course after completing B.A. L.L.B. or L.L.B.

The examination pattern covers questions on areas such as :-

Legal Aptitude
Numerical Aptitude
