No, not at all physical appearance has no importance for becoming an Indian Administrative Service officer.

It does matter what complexion or appearance you have, if you crack all the stages of the Civil Services examination, none is going to stop you from becoming IAS officer.

The various stage of Civil Services Examination which any candidate must clear in order to join different services like IAS, IPS, IFS etc:

>>Preliminary exam.

>>Main examination

>>Personal interview.

Eligibility criteria for this exam:

>>Any candidate who has done bachelor's degree even with passing percentage of marks can apply for this exam.

Those who are in final year of bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply for this exam.

Age criteria:

The general age limit is 21-32 years and upper age relaxation of three years to OBC and five years to SC/ST category.

There are six attempts for general candidates from 2015 and nine for OBC candidate. No limit for SC/ST candidates upto their maximum age limit.
