No, you can not join Indian navy after 12th commerce, because those
candidatesare eligible for Indian navy, who are pass 10+2 with Physics,
Chemistry and Maths. So youare not eligible to join Indian Navy but you
can join Indian army after 12th commerce.............

There is a possibility of joining Indian Navy for you but only after you complete your graduation.
Entry in SSC (short service commission) Logistic Cadre is allowed also for the students with non-science background. the educational qualification for SSC Logistic Cadre is B.Com, B.A.(Economics), C.A or I.C.W.A and other degree programmes in Science.
I would suggest you to take professional course such as C.A. or I.C.W.A which will open many options for your carreer in contemporary jobs and will give you a greater chance to join Indian Navy for SSC Logistic Cadre.
The age limit for SSc Logistic Cadre is 19 and half- 25 years.

BROAD CLASSIFICATION OF BRANCHES
Executive Branch
As an officer of the Executive Branch one can exercise command of ships, submarines and aircraft.

Executive officers can specialise in any of the following:-

(a) Gunnery & Missiles
(b) Navigation and Direction
(c) Anti-Submarine Warfare
(d) Communications
(e) Aviation
(f) Submarine
(g) Hydrography
(h) Diving.
The other cadres that form part of the Executive Branch are – Law, Air Traffic Control, Naval Armament Inspection and Logistics.

Engineering Branch
Modern ships, submarines and aircraft are fitted with advanced technology machinery and propulsion systems.

As an Engineer Officer you will be responsible for keeping all these Hi-tech systems serviceable.

Opportunities exist to work in gigantic naval dockyards and indigenous production units.

In no other career is an engineer exposed to such a wide spectrum of opportunities and to keep abreast of modern developments.

An Engineer Officer’s career is interspersed with technical courses upto post graduation level in India/abroad.
You can also join in the Naval Architecture Cadre of the Engineering Branch.

The Indian navy today employs the largest pool of trained Naval Architects in India.

A Naval architect is involved in design, construction, quality control, repair and new construction work of naval vessels.

With the Navy going for more and more sophisticated warship production within the country, the Corps of Naval Architects offers excellent opportunities to keep abreast of the advancement in ship building technology and implement your innovative ideas.
Electrical Branch
A warship is a mini floating city with an integral power generation and distribution system.

In addition, complex missile systems, underwater weapons, radars and radio communication equipment form major part of a warship’s equipment.

A majority of these are either computer-based or computer aided and incorporate the latest trends in electronics engineering.

For a ship to be able to fight effectively, all this equipment must be kept working at peak efficiency. Electrical Officers have this responsibility and other challenging tasks.

To sharpen the skills navy offers excellent opportunities for post-graduate courses in India/abroad to the deserving candidates.
Note: Officers of the Engineering and Electrical Branches can also volunteer for the Aviation/ Submarine Arm.

Education branch
Any service will be as good as the training its officers and men receive.

As an Education Officer you will play a major role in the training of naval officers/Sailors. Education Officers are responsible for scientific and methodical instructions, including theoretical aspects of technical subjects of all branches of the navy and also for general education.

An Education Officer can specialise in almost all specialisations of the Executive Branch. In addition some officers also get specialisation in Oceanography & Meteorology.

you can give National Defence Exam
NDA exam is held twice in a year .
NDA-1 in the month of april and

you can't attain NDA exam after your 12th.

as to attain in NDA exam, the 12th science with PCM combination is require.

but you can join Indian navy after your graduation course through UPSC exam.

army,because for the NDA Exam you must have mathematics in 12th.

but if you are too much eager to join the try then prepare for the graduation and after

graduation you can give the exam of the cds and you can join army.

To join Indian Navy you should belong to science stream.
As you are a commerce student so you are not eligible to join Indian Navy.

till now you can not join but after your any graduation you can join ittry to NDA exam is held twice in a year .

During the early times, there were very less or almost no "Female" who were willing to take up jobs in Merchant Navy. The hardships and the chances of going through circumstances that can be dangerous held the women back from seeking job in this field. Gradually, with changing course of time, lots of women are coming forth to take this lucrative platform as their professional field.

A bulk of "Female" are also taking the other way round and completing their marine engineering courses before joining as marine engineers in the Cargo and passenger ships.

Procedure is nothing different. It is as same as for Male counterparts.

For getting into Deck or Navigating department one has to start there career from post of "Deck Cadet" after that one will moves toward Third Officer which ultimately leads to Captain/Master in long time of 8-10 years work experiance.

Qualification Required: One has to persue 3 years B.sc (Nautical science) alongwith 12 months of onship training. Or these days this B.sc degre gets split into parts by maximum institutes such that- 1 year Diploma in Nautical science, 1 1/2 years Onboard ship training and 6 months pre-sea training.



Eligibility: 12th (PCM) with at least 60% aggregate. However, few Institutes also accept students with 55% aggregate. For Ex- Trident college of marine technology, West Bengal.

Age Limit: 20 years for those who has +2, while its 22-23 years for B.sc Dgree holder.

For Getting into Engine Department, one has to start career from the post of "Fifth or Junior Engineer" which ultimately lead to Chief Engineer.

Qualification Required: A degree in Marine or Mechanical or electrical Engineering from a recognised Institute. MArine engineering holder will get in directly while Mechanical and Elecrical has to undergone 10 months Pre-Sea Training in MArine engineering, which is either offered by recruiting company or candidate has to born itself.


Eligibility: Nothing different from what is required to be an Engineer.

Age Limit: 25 years

For Rating Department

For Deck Rating: Any bachelor degree(as it is prefered) with 1 year or 6 months pre-sea training.

Age Limit: 21 and 23 years.

Engine Rating: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering alongwith 12 or 6 months pre-sea training.

Age Limit: 21 years.

Catering Rating: Any background will do. However, background in hotel management with experience in the hospitality business will be a great help.
In this field you need to upgrade your skills every nine months or so, through proficiency development or skill development courses in the maritime academies and pass examinations conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS). This will be your key to new contracts.

Age Limit: 25 years for MBA or MAster degree holders.

One can also enter in Deck Cadet, just by having 12 months pre-sea training but prospects are not so promissing. So better to enter after graduation.

NOTE: 1) few private institutes also except candidate with 50% aggregate, because they have tied up with other university (EX- IGNOU) for providing degree. But student must be cautious of any fraud.

after 12 th the only way to get into defence line is through UPSC exams such as NDA 1 AND NDA 2 ....but after that you can also avail the facilities to enter into Defence...through CDS and UES entry schemes...

You can apply for indian navy only through CDS exam which is conducted by UPSC each year twice at graduation level

to join navy u need to pass 12th or equivalent with physics,chem., and maths. since u r a commerse student u can only join on the basis of sports achievements.

indian navy recruit student who have passed 10+2 level with the science subject physics, chemistry and mathematics. as you are from commerce background so you will not be eligible for the technical post in indian navy.

also you are not eligible for NDA through UPSC. you will be only eligible for clerk or other small job. in that case i will suggest you to do some course to join in indian navy. like take training from a good marine institution or something like that as well as complete your graduation. then try for indian navy. surely you will get chance to enter in navy.

No, you can not join Indian navy after 12th commerce...............

12th passouts can join defence acadmy throuhg NDA( National Defence Academy). The minimum educational qualification for NDA examination is 12th passout. You must have PCM for admission in Navy and Airforce branch but for Army Branch both commerce and arts students can apply.
Please notice that sudentS without PCM ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for a/f and navy( in NDA exam) but can aply for army through NDA Examination

You can not join Indian navy as a sailor or officer because you have commerce. Only science students are allowed for sailor and officer entries. you are not eligible for NDA because you do not have science stream.

After 12th Class to join in navy you must have a subject combination of MATHS,physics and chemistry.

you cant opt for nda since it need's students who have taken MPC(maths,physics,chemistry) as there main subjects in 12th with minimum 75% aggregate.

but if you are interested in joining defence services you can opt after completing your respected degree course in officer's academy.
