I m 20 yrs now so is there any posibility for me to appear the nda exam? With this age?

NDA exam stands for national defence academy.

NDA exam is conducted to join these stream;-

INDIAN ARMY

INDIAN NAVY

INDIAN AIR FORCE


ELIGIBILITY;-

1)you must be 12th standard from a recognized university

2) you must be unmarried male as well as Indian citizen.

3)age limit is 16.5-19 years.

4)you must be physically as well as mentally fit.

At the age of 20 years ,you are not eligible to apply for NDA as the maximum age of entry is 19 years and there is no upper age relaxation for any reserved category candidate.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental Fitness.

Sorry to say that there is no chance for you to appear for the NDA examinations at the age of 20 years because the maximum age limit to appear for the NDA examinations are 19 years as per rules and regulations of UPSC and also there is one fact that no relaxation in age is provided to candidates of any category.

If you are so much interested in joining defense there are two more options left for you but both are at bachelor's degree level.

First one is the CDS that is Combined defense services examinations.

This exam is held twice every year by the UPSC .You need to be a graduate in order to apply for this examination.

The age limit for different academies are as follows:

Indian Military academy:19-24 years

Indian naval academy:19-22 years

Officer's training academy:19-25 years

Indian air force academy:19-23 years.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.Both male and female candidates can apply for the examinations.

The second option for you is Technical entry scheme.It is for those candidates who want to join army.

The eligibility for this exam is that you must have secure at least 75 % in PCM of your 10+2 from a recognized board.

As far as I am concerned the age limit is 17-21 years.But I will suggest you to kindly check it out from the official website that www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Candidates are shortlisted depending upon the cut off marks set by the Board and are sent letters for direct SSB without giving any written test.

Note: If you are pursuing you bachelor's degree in engineering/technology/science then you may also go for the University Entry scheme.

>>Both TES and UES are for joining the Indian army.

To join National Defence Academy a candidate must appear in the entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi, twice a year.

Iam really sorry to say this you are not eligible for National Defence Academy.

NDA exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) 2 times in every year.

1. NDA-I,

2. NDA-II.

There are three differant wings in NDA, those are listed below.


Indian Airforce,

Indian Navy,

Indian Army.


Eligibility criteria:-

The applicant must have to complete 12th standard from a recognised board or university.

The applicant should be physically fit.

Percentage is not important to appear the NDA examination, but only with PCM subjects candidates can be applicable for Indian AirForce and Navy.

Minimum age requirements are 16.5 years,

Maximum age requirements are 19 years.

No upper age relaxation.

The candidates must be an Indian origin.

Only unmarried and male candidates are eligible, i.e girls are not eligible.

between 16.5 to 19 years and You Not Qualifying being 20 years old....

These are the successive stages.

First the written test is conducted.

This written test consists of two papers -

After qualifying the written test, an SSB interview is conducted.

After this interview a physical examinationis done.

They check eyesight, chest measurement, height, weight, colour blindness of the shortlisted candidate.

Physical standards are very importnat in NDA exam.

So, you can;t apply for NDA, but you can try for CDS exam, which is also conducted by UPSc, but for that you will have to complte graduation.
