Yes it is possible to prepare for IAS without coaching but you must take care of following point when preparing at home.

-Proper Time Management

-Discipline and dedication towards studies

-Studying according to time table

-Good study material

-Internet for taking IAS Mock Test

In coaching classes they make you disciplined and also they take regular surprise test to check the preparation of the students.

Also not everyone who has taken coaching gets selected for IAS. Those who are hard working and dedicated with clear basic will be selected.

So if you can concentrate at your home then no problem you can prepare for IAS on you own but if you feel that you need help in studies then you must join a coaching center.

The syllabus of IAS exam is very vast and you need a strict schedule to become well prepared for it.

It is possible but it also depends on your mindset. If you have confidence in your ability that you can prepare on your own then you need only good study material for preparation.

Many students clear IAS every year without coaching because they don't have enough money for coaching.

Hello Friend ,

To be very frank as you know IAS exam that is conducted by UPSC every to

recruit post for in departments like IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IFS

Service) and so on.

The Civil Services Examination comprises:

(i) Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT)

(ii) Civil Services Main Examination

(iii) Personality Test

Once you qualify the Civil Service Aptitude Test, you are eligible to take the Main Examination .

Civil Services Examination is one of the toughest competitive examinations in India. So, if you are aspiring for the Civil Services, you have to be persistent and hard working. You should update yourself with developments across the world.

Coming to whether you should seek coaching or not, time and again, Civil Services aspirants have proved that it is an individual choice. Several Civil Services aspirants have cracked the Civil Services Examination in a single attempt without taking any coaching. It was possible because of their confidence, self-motivation, determination and persistence.

So, if you have a track record of achieving your goals without much external support, you may try taking Civil Services Examination without any coaching. In case you fail to clear it or realise that you cannot make it on your own, you can opt for coaching and reappear for the examinations.

If you attend a coaching centre, you can interact with like-minded people, understand their perspectives, take tips from their learning styles, improve your knowledge and be abreast with latest updates.

Some of the institutes offering Civil Services Examination are :
