IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

ELIGIBILITY for IAS:

A candidate must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline with atlest 55% from recognise universities.

Final year students are also applicable.

Age Limit:

General category student:- 21-30 years.
OBC relaxation in upper age +3 years.
SC/ST relaxation in upper age +5 years.


No. Attempt:

General - max. 4
OBC - max. 7.
SC/ST - No limit.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC and is known as CSAT.

To appear for CSAT exam, you will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria, which are -

You should be an Indian citizen

You should be a graduate from a recognized university.

Your age should be between 21 years to 30 years.

The IAS exam consistes of three stages-

1. Preliminary exam
2. Main exam
3. Interview.

Preliminary exam is objective type.

main exam is essay type

for ias first condition is that you must be a graduate or in the final year of graduation.with graduation you can join coaching. The civil service exam is taken by upsc every year for the post of IAS,IPs,Ifs etc. The age must be 21 to 30 year and the relaxation in age for obc is 3 year ,for sc/st 5 year. It has 3 phase
1.aptitude test
2.written test
3.interview

In the Prelims Exams there are no Optional papers , so both the papers are common for all the candidates.


In the Mains exams you ahve to choose just one optional Paper from the below list of subjects:

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted every year by UPSC.

Eligibility and Age limit for IAS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National.
-Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years.

Thee candidate should have prepared himself/herself accordingly after 12th for Civil Service Exam along with the regular under Graduate studies.

How can service & age calculated for ex army personnel ???
Maximum of persons gets their retairment after 15yrs of service..and by the time they reach their age..beyond 36,37.
Can they appear for IAS ..???
