How to prepare for IAS exam? What is the eligibility and age limit?
i would like to know complete detail about how to prepare for IAS exam,the elegibility,age limit and i m based in mumbai so where can i get coaching from?i would also like to know the experiences of students who got through and who are preparing for IAS exams??

Hi,
IAS exam is conducted by UPSC and is known as CSAT. To appear for CSAT exam, you will have to fulfill the eligibility criteria, which are - You should be an Indian citizen You should be a graduate from a recognized university. Your age should be between 21 years to 30 years. The IAS exam consistes of three stages- 1. Preliminary exam 2. Main exam 3. Interview. Preliminary exam is objective type. main exam is essay type You can prepare well by joining a good coaching, as coachings provide good material for preparation and the preparation becomes more organized. IAS-Indian Administrative Service. IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) one time in a year. Eligibility details:- The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university. Percentage is not required for this exam. You must be an Indian origin. Age details:- The age limits are 21 to 30 years, 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become an IAS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted every year by UPSC.
Eligibility and Age limit for IAS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National. -Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years. Thee candidate should have prepared himself/herself accordingly after 12th for Civil Service Exam along with the regular under Graduate studies. As the exam is very tough and competitive, one should prepare for Civil Service Exam at least one year rigorously before sitting for exam. One may take assistance of any good coaching Institutes for Civil Service Exam. |

There is no separate entrance exam called IAS Exam for the candidates to make entry into IAS.
Instead, the candidates have to appear for civil services exam in order to get jobs in various civil services like Indian Administrative Service Indian Police Service Indian Revenue Service Indian Foreign Service etc. The complete selection procedure for the candidates to make entry into civil services is by Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview Here is the complete eligibility criteria that you need to have to apply for this exam. Academic Qualification : One should have completed Graduation from any of the recognized university with any of the stream. Candidates who are in final year of Graduation can also apply for this exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview. Age criteria : A candidate of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years for the candidates of General category. The Union Public Service Commission conducts an exam known as the Civil Services Exam through which interested candidates can join any of the following departments : * Indian Administrative Services * Indian Police Services * Indian Foreign Services * Indian Economic Services The Eligibility Criteria for IAS Civil Services Exam are : # Educational Qualifications : - The candidate must hold a Bachelor`s degree in any stream from any recognized college/university. - candidates in final year of graduation are also eligible for this exam. # Age Limit : - For General Candidates : 21-30 yrs - For OBC Candidates : 21-33 yrs - For SC/ST candidates : 21-35 yrs # Nationality : - The candidate must have Indian Citizenship. # Number Of Attempts : - For General Candidates : 4 - For OBC Candidates : 7 - For SC/ST candidates : No Limitation This Exam is considered as one of the toughest exams conducted by the UPSC in which more than 10 lac candidates appear every year and out of them only 250-300 are just selected. How can service & age calculated for ex army personnel ???
Maximum of persons gets their retairment after 15yrs of service..and by the time they reach their age..beyond 36,37. Can they appear for IAS ..??? |
