For getting a salary of nearly Rs 75000 in Indian Navy, you will have to be recruited as commanding officer i.e; lieutenant in the Indian Navy.

For the same, being a mechanical engineer you will have to join Combined Defense Services ( CDS ) where you will be provided necessary training before your recruitment as the lieutenant.

Now to join CDS you will have to clear the CDS examination which is held twice every year by Union Public Service Commission in two stages which are called as Written examination and Service Selection Board interview respectively.

The eligibility criteria for the same examination for joining Indian Navy are as here under :-

* You must be an Indian resident with your age lying in between 19 years to 22 years.

* You must be physically and mentally fit as per the service requirement norms.

* You must hold the bachelor of Science degree with either of Physics or Mathematics or Bachelor of engineering / technology degree from a recognized university.
