Captain is an officers rank in Navy. To get a officer's rank you need to appear for CDS [Combined Defense Services] examination conducted by UPSC and pot for Navy wing of armed forces after selection.

Hello........ To join navy in officer cadre you will need to write CDS(combined defence services) either in your final year or after that.But don't be too optimistic.Little drops of water make a mighty ocean.So after getting selected you'll start from sub-leiutant and then gradually get promoted in 7-8 years to captain.
