Respected Sir/Mam, This is Abhishek Sharma of NCHMCT 2year, B.Sc. I am highly interested in the bureau department and it fascinates me more than any other thing, I could perhaps do and even negotiate at times. All I want is to know that, what is the complete procedure to be the part of the most valuable and appreciable CBI dept. Kindly, inform me with the procedure. I'll be highly thankful to you.

CBI stands for Central Bureau of Investigation. There are two entrance exams through which you can enter this investigation department. For Sub Inspector post, you should apply for Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level exam and for higher posts in CBI, you should first join Indian Police Services.

You can join Indian Police Services through Civil Services examination. For both of these exams, minimum academic qualification required is bachelor's degree. The age limit for SSC CGL is 20-30 years for CBI and 21-32 years for Civil Services exam.

Top IPS officers are selected for CBI. You will be eligible to apply for both exams in final year of graduation.

Candidate who wish to join the CBI must write the SSC combined graduate level exam conducted by union public Service Commission examination
Eligibility
Graduation with a minimum of 55%marks are eligible to appear for this exam
They must be at least 20 years at the time of applying SC/ST/OBC candidate must be at least 30 years when they apply

The procedure to apply for Job in Central Bureau of Investigation through Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level exam:

1. Visit the official website of SSC and apply when notification is released for 2018.

2. Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final year bachelor's degree candidates can also apply for exam.

3. Age limit for Sub Inspector is 20-30 years. Upper age relaxation of three years to OBC and five years to SC/ST candidates.

Wait for notification of next year exam.

First of all, there is no exam conducted by CBI.

You can get selected as a sub inspector for CBI through SSC Combined Graduate level examination.

Another way is through UPSC examination in which candidates selected for Indian Police Service through future promotions can get appointed as head of the CBI department.

There is no intermediate level entry in the CBI.

It's good to see your interest towards CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and here I am providing you all the details and other important things.

CBI does not recruit candidates directly for their department and the same is done by SSC (Staff Selection Commission) on their behalf. The SSC does the same through a exam which is held every year and commonly known as SSC CGL Exam where CGL means combined graduate level exam.

The eligibility of the exam is : -

1. Age - Min 21 to max 27
(Relaxation as per category - For Gen candidate no relaxation, for OBC 3 years and for SC/ST its 05 years)

2. Candidate must be minimum a graduate in any subject with 50% marks, However final year candidate can also apply for the same.

3. Subject No bar

4. Nationality must be Indian.

The exam pattern is as follows -

Pre Exam - 200 Marks
Mains Exam - 400 Marks
Interview
