Qualification needed for CBI, CID or IB? Procedure of examination in details?


I m pursuing b.com 2ND years with commerce streams ,so i wants to apply for intelligence bureau ,or central bureau of investigation,or crime investigation department ,or for Indian police service or Indian administrative service ,so provide full details regarding the qualification required for this post and the procedure of examination in details to covers this syallabus within 1 yrs

The term “CBI” denotes Central Bureau of Investigation and it is a leading agency for investigation which comes under the control of the Indian Government. An officer working for this agency always has great respect in the society. Irrespective of whether it is a case pertaining to corruption or a case pertaining to murder, the agency always offers its best in investigating the case. This agency is controlled by the Home Ministry and due to the high profile jobs offered by CBI, an opportunity to work here has great attraction among people.


Youth always have a question as to how to start a career in CBI and here are some of the details on how to join the Central Bureau of Investigation:

CBI engages sub-inspectors through the Staff Selection Commission for which recruitment notification is published by the agency in leading dailies and employment newspapers. Even officers in the rank of Inspector of Police and other higher positions through Union Territory and State Police Forces on deputation basis and even non-police officers are recruited on deputation basis.

Here is some information on Staff Selection Commission Examination that can enable a candidate to enter into Sub-Inspector entry level position in CBI:

Recruitment examination of sub-inspectors in CBI:

This examination called as Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission once in a year, normally during the month of February and notification for this examination is normally issued by the SSC through leading employment newspapers in the month of October of the previous year. Last date for submission of application forms for this examination is generally fixed during the first week of November.

Age and educational qualification requirement for applying the examination:

Candidates must be in the age group of 20 to 25 years as on the first of January of the year in which they are applying. However, upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates according to the rules of government of India. When it comes to educational qualification, candidates must be degree holders from a recognized university to apply for this examination.

In addition to age and educational qualification requirements, candidates will also have to fulfill certain physical standards like height of 157.5 cms and chest size of 81 cms, fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.

About Examination:

Staff Selection Commission administers Combined Graduate Level Examination for several other posts in addition to the Sub-Inspector position in Central Bureau of Investigation. This examination tests the ability of the candidates through preliminary and main examinations.

Preliminary examination will have questions under following categories:

• English Comprehension

• Numerical Aptitude

• General Awareness

• General Intelligence and reasoning ability

While main examination will have questions to test following areas:

• Arithmetic ability

• Statistics

• English comprehension skills

Only candidates getting through the main examination will be invited for attending the interview. Candidates will also have to take up walking and cycling test as well.

Crime investigation department ( CID) is a Crime detection agency that comes under the government of India.
Indian civil service examination conducted by UPSC.
Candidates must have done graduation in any stream from recognised University.
Candidates who has already completed graduation can join this department as a sub inspector.
There are many University in India that offer degree in criminology and criminal justice at the graduation level which may be helpful to join CID.
Age limit:- 20 to 27 years.
Attempts:- general- 4
Obc 7 ,sc/ st - no limit.
CBI ( central bureau of investigation Indian government.
Premier investigation agency of India. The agency has been known to investigation services economics crimes, special crimes,cases of corruption and other cases.
Education qualification: Bachelor's degree. You need to be graduate in any discipline 50% marks.
Age limit:- 20 to 27 years.
IB ( Intelligence bureau) is India domestic intelligence, internal security and counter intelligence agencies.
Age limit- 18 to 27 years.
Conducting authority- ministry of Home affairs national level recruitment.
Intelligence officer, accountant and research officer and other post.
