Re: Procedure for becoming a Charted Accountant?
Hello friend,
An indivudual who have passed +2 and want to pursue CA, will need to write Competency Professional Test (CPT) coducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India throughout India in the month of May and November every year. The candidate needs to register atleast ten months before the exam. There is no standard set for the stream and percentage of marks in +2. It means that anyone from any stream could write CPT. Candidate who have passed the CPT with an aggregate of 50% and a minimum of 40% in each paper will qualify for the Professional Competency Course (PCC). An indivudual can register for PCC without writing CPT if He/She is a Commerce graduates with an aggregate of 50% marks OR non-commerce graduates (without Maths) with an aggregate of 55% OR non-commerce graduates (with Maths) with an aggregate of 60%. Along with the PCC, the candidate has to enroll for 100 hrs. of training in information and technology. After clearing the PCC exam and completion of Computer training, candidate will need to register as an Articled clerk and go through a practical training for 3 years in a CA firm. After completion of practical training, candidate will be eligible to write the final exam. As soon as the candidate pass the final exam, he/she will need to undergo a communication and management course to become a Chartered Accountant, a member of ICAI. For any further information like course structure, syllabus, admission procedure etc, you may visit www.icai.org. |

Re: Procedure for becoming a Charted Accountant?
Hello,
To be a chartered accountant, you have to pass 10(+2), with maths as a compulsory subject. You have to crack the exams like CPP,PCT etc conducted by ICAI or Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to be a CA. It will be better if you complete a degree course in commerce at first, before applying for CA. Then it will be easier to give the related exams and get a CA recognition. Good luck! |
