i am doing engg.(be mech). i am in 4th year i want to know about ies(indian engg.services)how much seat is there for mechanical engg. and how and when i can apply. Plz give me full detail

Please go through the advertisement published in the major newspapers recently. Final year students can appear for preliminary exam provided they give proof of passing the qualifying degree exam along with the mains exam application form.

As i know you can apply for IES exam after your graduation.
-Date of notification is 30 July 2011
-Last date of receipt of application is 29 August 2011 (MONDAY)
-Date of commencement of exam is 03 December 2011 (SATURDAY)
-Duration of exam is 3 Days

Dear,

Through UPSC exam you can apply for IES examination.

And UPSC allows the final year students for this examination.

Minimum Eligibility criteria for UPSC examination is 50 % marks in graduation in any branch from a regonised university.

Age Limit is upto 30 years for general candidates.

UPSC publish the vacancies in Employment News & opens in internet website also i.e. www.freshersworld.com.

Only graduates or final year students are eligible to appear for IAS exam.

Hai, right now i am studying 2nd year mechanical.my question is how would i prepare for the ies exam in order to get job,please give me necessary suggestions and the procedure of the exam ie how it will be carried out.

Indian Engineering Services exam is conducted by UPSC .

Important dates for IES exam 2012 -

1. Last date of application = 1st week of February 2012
2. Exam date = 2nd week of May 2012 .
