sir i want to know the details of entrance examination of customs.Explain me about the procedures of the recruitment in customs and the mode of examination.what is the subject related with the exam??i want to join customs sir please help me with your guidelines....

You need to appear for the UPSC exam. At first there will be a written test which is the prelims. Then there will be Mains exam. Finally there will be an interview. As part of the written test you need to well versed in General knowledge. Mathematics is also another area where questions will be asked. Also you need to select from the optional subjects.

You need to appear for Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
On selection, you should opt for Customs and Central Excise branch of Indian Revenue Service.

To be a customs officer one has to give the examination of Civil Services Examination which provides entry into 27 different services including the Indian Customs & Central Excise Services. Customs Department is one of the two tax collecting departments of the government whose function is to control the imported and exported goods for the purpose of duty, statistics and checks for entry of prohibited and restricted goods, especially smuggled drugs.

You will be a group A officer and you will work under the central government wherever you are posted.

QUALITIES REQUIRED FROM A CANDIDATE:

• Alert, Diplomatic and discreet
• Fluent in English and local languages
• Above average at organising
• Excellent at communicating
• Extrovert, dynamic, meticulous
• A strong leader
• Aware about national and international affairs.
• Interested in human affairs
• Physically fit

But for this you have to first qualify the civil services examination.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1)A candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university.
2)Age must be between 21 to 30 years.There's an age relaxation for reserved categories.
3)Number of attempts for general candidate is four.Seven for OBC candidate.No limit in the number of attempts for SC/ST.
4)A candidate must be an indian citizen.

• Junior Officer Scale - (8000-13500)
• Senior Officer Scale - (10650-15850)
• Junior Administrative Grade (after nine years of services) - (12750-16500);
• Selection Grade (after 14th year) - (15100-18300)
• Senior Administrative Grade (15th-18th year) - (18400-22400)
