CDS Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission two times every year.

CDS Exam conducted for:-

• Indian Army
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force
• Officer's Training Academy

Eligibility Details for The CDS Exam:

1. You should be an Indian

2. All Males and Females are Eligible.

3. You should be completed Graduation inany discipline from any discipline University. For the air force wing and navy wing you need an engineering degree or a B.Sc degree with physics and mathematics.

Age Details:-

• For Indian Army:19-24 Years
• For Indian Navy:19-22 Years
• For Indian Air Force:19-23 Years

Girls are only eligible to apply for the OTA exam. In a term an average of about 40 lady cadets get commissioned as Officers to Indian Army. OTA , Chennai is the only Academy that trains Short service commission candidates.

Exam Pattern:-

~ English Language :- 100 marks .
~ General Knowledge :- 100 Marks .

English Language :-

• Comprehension
• Antonyms
• Synonyms
• Correct the Errors
• Prepositions
• Grammar
• Vocabulary

General Knowledge :-

• Current affairs
• History
• Social Science
• Science
• National Events

CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.
All males and females possessing graduation are eligible to appear for the exam with age group of 19-25 years.
Question pattern are same for girls and boys.
But for Indian air force and Indian navy, a candidate should be a graduate in B.tech, while for Indian army candidate with graduation in any respect can apply for the exam.
For only Indian army candidate should have to attempt GENERAL ABILITY exam while for the Indian Navy and for Indian Air force candidate has to attempt GENERAL ABILITY as well as MATHEMATICS examination also.
