As per the guidelines of National Defense Academy, Girls are not considered eligible to write NDA Exam. Proposal for considering girls candidates for the academy has been made but is yet to be approved by the governing bodies. However, being a girl candidate, one can definitely write Combined Defense Service Examination to join Indian Army through Officers Training Academy.
In order to be considered eligible for the same, you must have completed your bachelors degree program from a recognized university. Girl candidates irrespective of the marks obtained and stream followed in the bachelors degree program, may apply for Combined Defense Service Examination.
As far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.

The examination is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission and in order to keep yourself updated regarding the same , refer to the the official website of the commission.

Girls are not eligible to apply for the Defence services through National defence service examination. You are eligible to apply through combined defence service examination only. The CDS examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year for the selection of candidate in Indian Air force, Army and navy. The eligibility required for the CDS examination is given below:

Education Qualification
For CDS examination you should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the combined defence service examination.
Candidate applying for the Indian Air force and Navy should have physics and maths at 10+2 level.

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 years
Air Force Academy 19-23 years
Naval Academy 19-22 years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years

NDA exam is only for unmarried male boys, so girls are not eligible for NDA exam but you are eligible for CDS exam if you are completed your graduation in any discipline because the minimum educational qualification for this exam is graduation. Total details about CDS are given below.

CDS exam has four wings:-

***Indian naval academy,

***Indian airforce academy,

***Indian military academy,

***Officer training academy.

Eligibility criteria:-

The candidate must have to complete graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

Final year exams appearing candidates may also eligible and there is no percentage restrictions for this exam.

Male and female both are eligible for this exam.

You must be a citizen of india.

You should be physically fit.


Age criteria:-

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

Girls are not eligible to apply for NDA at present as it is only meant for Male candidate. But now the Govt. is thinking to introduce Female candidate to NDA in future.

But the Girls are eligible to apply for CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Officer's Training Academy of CDS.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with good Physical Fitness.

The slection is through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

The acronym for NDA is National Defence Academy.

The acronym for CDS is Combined Defence Services.

First of all, I would like to tell you that only male contenders are eligible for the NDA examination, So, you are not eligible for NDA examination.

But, yes, you are eligible for CDS examination, if, you have completed your graduation.

CDS examination is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II.

CDS examination is conducted for these following wings:-

* Indian Naval Academy(INA).

* Indian Air Force Academy(IAFA).

* Indian Military/Army Academy(IMA).

* Officer's Training Academy.

The eligibility criteria required for the CDS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation with PCM for Air Force and Navy wings from any accredited college or university.

* Completion of graduation with Arts and Commerce for Army wing from any recognized college or university.

* Age limit:- 19-22 yrs - INA.
19-23 yrs - IAFA.
19-24 yrs - IMA.
19-25 yrs - OTA.

* Sex:- Both male and female.

* Marital status:- Single or unmarried.

* Nationality:- Indian.
