cds : common defence service exam is conducted by upsc for admission into INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY. OTA, the student selected after selection in interview get admitedd for officer training after which they become officer

Combined Defence service examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. To apply for this examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the Combined defence service examination.

Future of the CDS?

Candidates who have passed the CDS examination will be called for the SSB interview. The SSB interview is of 5 days in which they test your qualities in different areas. Candidates who successfully passed the SSB test will be called for the Medical examination. After the training and medical test you get recommended as an officer.

As an officer you get many facilities like, canteen, medical, mess, library and so on. There is a bright future in defence services.

in cdse exam we write the 3 papers continously or not....

CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year for recruitment to various wings of defense forces of India and Officers Training Department(OTA).

the eligibility for this exam is as below-

educational
for army and OTA - graduation in any discipline.
for air force and navy - gradation with physics and math at 10+2 level.

age
age should be between 19 to 24 years.


the pattern of this exam is as below-

general english 100 marks.

general awareness 100 marks.

elementary math 100 marks.

each paper is of two hours.


the written exam is followed by SSB and medical.

note-the following eligibility criteria needs to be fulfilled for this exam is as below-

educational
for army and OTA - graduation in any discipline.

it's not a very tough task to crack written examination of CDS. all questions are of elementary level, so self-motivated study is sufficient. but you need proper guidance to go through SSB.

there are three papers in CDS written examination-

1.general english
2.elementary math.
3.general awareness.

each paper carries 100 marks and is of 2 hour duration.

no, you do not have to write all the papers continuously.. a gap of 1 hr is given in between two papers.

CDS (Combined Defense Service) is the Defense service For Indian Army.
UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts the CDS exam.

Indian Combined Defense Services wing mainly have 4 Wings:

Indian Military Academy
Indian Air Force Academy
Indian Naval Academy
Officers Training Academy(OTA)


The Minimum Eligibility Requirements for the CDS Entrance Exam :

Education :

Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy :
you must have completed your Degree in any stream from any recognized college or board.


Indian Air Force :
you must have Bachelor Degree in Engineering or B.Sc with Physics or Mathematics as your main subjects from any recognized university.


Indian Naval Academy :
you must have completed your Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Degree in Physics or Mathematics as your main subjects from any recognized university.


Age Criteria ::

Indian Military Academy : 22years - 25 years
Indian Air Force Academy : 22years - 25 years
Indian Naval Academy : 22years - 24 years
Officers Training Academy : 22years - 28 years

Only Unmarried Male Candidates allowed.
