Minimum qualification required to apply for Income Tax officer examination is completing a degree course from a recognized Institution.

Your age should be in between 21 to 27 years.

Age relaxation:-

SC/ST- 5 years

OBC- 3 years

Ex-Servicemen ( Unreserved)- 5 years

Ex-Servicemen (OBC)- 8 years

Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST)- 10 years

PH candidates- 10 years

Yes, there is relaxation in age for candidates who belong to physically handicapped category.

The examination conducted for recruitment in the category is conducted by SSC as CGL.

There is relaxation in age as well as reservation of seats for PH category candidates. The examination is conducted in three stages such as Tier I, Tier II and Interview stages and have to qualify in examination for final recruitment.
