Those candidate have completed their 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam.

There is no percentage criteria for NDA exam

But your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

NDA (National Defence Academy) is one of the platforms through which you can express your indomitable spirit for your own country India.

Eligibility for Indian Army :
1:You should pass 12(10+2)th or its equivalent from State Board / Universities. you can also apply as appearing for 12th examination.

2:Marital Status:Unmarried

3:Sex :Male.

4:Age Limit : Between 16.5 and 19.

5:Nationality:
You have to be A citizen of India, or
subject of Bhutan, or
subject of Nepal, or
Tibetan refugee .

Application Forms are published in any leading newspapers during March or April every year and entrance examination to be held by the UPSC six months later from the application form is published.

The UPSC (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year (April and October)in all major cities throughout India.

Each year course start twice January and July.

Selection Procedure: National Defence Academy selects the candidates in three phases :

i)A written examination by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).
ii)An interview by the Service Selection Board(SSC) to check the potentialities Intelligence and personality.
iii)A medical examination by a Service Medical Board(SMB).

The written examination is of two papers of all objective type questions.
i)Mathematics of 2.5 hours maximum number 300 including Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.

ii)General Ability test of 2.5 hours maximum number 600 including General English, General Knowledge,Physics,Chemistry,General Science,History,Freedom Movement,Geography,Current Event

After clearing the written exam you will be called for a five-day interview process with the State Selection Board (SSB) which is the final step of selection.

On completion of the NDA course, you are sent to the respective service academies for your pre- commission training.


Important dates/schedule of NDA-II exam-2011:

Date of notification of NDA-II exam-2011: 9th April (Saturday), 2011.

Last date of receiving completed application: 9th May (Monday), 2011.

Date of NDA-II exam-2011 (written): 21st August (Sunday), 2011.

The candidates who are interested to join National Defense Academy may apply for the entrance exam conducted by union public service commission. Academy consists of three wings of joint training: army, navy and air force. Getting into NDA is considered highly prestigious. Admissions are conducted twice a year.

No particular percentage of marks in 12th required for NDA exam.

Candidates who have cleared 10+2 and those who are currently doing can apply.
Those who had taken Physics & Mathematics in Class 12th can apply for navy and air force.

There is no percentage criteria at all to appear for NDA Exam. A mere pass in 12th standard is enough for the candidate to be eligible for NDA Exam.

NDA Exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year. The candidates will be placed in various defence services like

As such UPSC doesnot mentioned the minimum percentage to appear in NDA exam..
*For army wing-
-High school qualified candidate or Equivalent.
-Age limit~16.5-19 yr.
*For Navy and Air force-
-High school qualification with PCM or equivalent.
-Age limit-16.5-19 yr.
Exam conducted by UPSC twice in a year in the month of April and August.

The NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC for the admission in the Naval Wing, Air Force Wing and Army of NDA.
Educational Qualification needed For Naval Wing and Air Force Wing of NDA:-
The candidate should has passed class 12th with subject combination Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the candidate should score 60% in aggregate.
A class 12th final examination appearing students can also apply for the examination.

Educational Qualification needed for Army of NDA:-
The candidate just need to pass class 12th in any stream.There is no any marks criteria specified.

Age Limit:-
The of the candidate should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

Only the male unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the examination.

National Defense Academy (NDA) allows only male candidates to apply for the NDA entrance exam.
Candidates who desire to join the Army wing of the NDA must have a pass in class 12 or its equal from any subject stream.
The certification must be from a recognized board or university.
Those who aspire to join the Naval Wing and the Air Force must have a pass in class 12 in science.

Candidates who are going to appear for the class 12 or its equal exam are also suitable to submit an application for this exam.
As to get admitted into the Naval Academy and National Defense Academy, the candidates also need to pass in the physical fitness test, as part of the selection process.

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. It is an entrance examination which is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year for the recruitment of Class 1 officers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the Indian Defense System.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to appear in the NDA exam are :


1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian National.

2. You should have passed class 12th from a recognized school or state board if India. As such no minimum marks are specified.

3. Your age should lie within 16.5 to 19 years. Note that no specific relaxations are provided to any candidates.

4. You must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects if you wish to apply for the Indian Air Force or Naval wings.

5. You should be physically fit.


So as per your query I would have to say that No such Percentage criteria is put up. You just have to pass your 12th H.S. If you satisfy all the above criteria's then you can easily apply for the NDA exam.
