Dear,

To become a CBI officer you need to write Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by UPSC once in every year. This exam is for the post of sub-inspector in CBI i.e. Central bureau of investigation.

For writing this exam you need to have a graduation degree with at least 50% marks. Age should not be more than 25 years.

CBI test is conducted in three steps.

Step1:Written Examination, which is a Objective Multiple Choice Type
Step2:This is written only when you qualify the first step. It consists of Written Examination, which is a Objective Multiple Choice Type.
Step3:personality test i.e. interview.

After qualifying first step you also need to undergo physical examination i.e. physical endurance test or medical test.

To join as CBI officer you need to appear for Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam conducted by SSC(Staff selection committee).

* Candidates should have a graduation from a recognized university.
* The age limit must be within 21 to 27 for general category.
* The age limit must be up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates.
* The age limit must be up to 33 years for OBC candidates.

Procedure:

* Written exam
* Interview
* Medical exam

Attempts:

For General category - 4 attempts.
For SC/ST category - No limit
For OBC category - 7 attempts

To apply for the officer level posts in Central Bureau of investigation, you need to apply for the SSC Combined Graduate Level exams

Below is the Eligibilty Criteria to sit in this exams:

Education:Graduation pass in any stream
No Minimum Percentage is required in Graduation

AGE- Minimum 18 years
Maximum 27 years
AGE Relaxations- 3 years for OBC candidates, 7 years for SC/ST candidates

Next Exam of the SSC Combined Graduate level will be held on 14th April 2013 and 21st April 2013
Notification and advertisement will come out on 19th January 2013

A candidate Should have completed their Graduation in Any Stream with at least 55% from Recognize Universities......

Age Limit should Not exist 25 years for General Category. there is a relaxation is available for SC/ST category up to upper Age + 5 years.....

Yes, there is a exam for CBI, that is known as CGPE (Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination), which is conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Board) every year.

You will have to appear in this exam to join CBI.

CGPE examination (preliminary) consists of two papers:-
