Can anyone tell me the scope of computer science & engineering in indian railway

in indian railway there is no that much scope for computer science. computer science maily scope in software companies

Indian railway has very wide scope in every field.
so your branch is Computer science and Indian railway has also the scope in computer field
as a software engineers and more.
you can see on the official website of railway and go to the book stall for the application form and know about the job vacancies in the field of computer as Indian railway.

You can be An IRS officer or other administrative officer in the railway department.

As you can see now a day there is very few jobs in govt. and non-govt. sectors for computers due to the recession in the crashed market.
But as i know there are many vacancies in the Indian Railway for the computer programmers.
Indian govt. has issued some norms as per the student of computer science. Indian railway requires programmers and database manager for their secure date retrial and internet booking of the ticket.
So for the vacancies in the indian railway you can search out in the Employment news.

In Indian Railway, Computer Science Engineers get job in following positions i.e.
1. Railway Ticket Reservation

2. Station Master

3. Asistant Station Master

4. Material Depot

5. Signal Office etc.

There is very little chance for a computer engineer in government fields.although there is a vast job opportunities in private companies.

railway is also not an exception and i am very sorry to say you that there are very few jobs available for you in railway .and to the best of my knowledge computer engineer are not eligible for filling the IES form.
so,better you try in some other fields

well computer science engineer does not have much scope in indian railways but there are many scope for them.

dear friend now a days indian railways are appointing only engineers in big posts from the fields of mechanical,automobile,electrical and also computer science.many engines are now a days computer operated and hence it has become esssential for railways to appoint a computer engineer.after delhi many cities are being preparing for the metro rails,which is fully associated with computer technology.hence in this matter the scope of computer science has more importance in indian railways.

Join Indian Railways in any capacity or post....later with computer qualifications u can change ur job within railways...In Indian railways, opportunities for computer engineers are PLENTY...in the commercial department, engineering departments, operation department of railways....The Centre for Railway Information System, CCI, RITES, CONCORD, RAILTEL are some railway organisations which need computer engineers
