Re: Which subject to choose out of forensic science and microbiology for post graduation?
Hi,
I would advice you to go for M.Sc in Forensic Science for the following reasons:- 1. Already you have vast exposure to Public relations/ Journalism which is linked to Forensic department. 2. Your talent in mass communication will not be put in use if you opt for microbiology. 3.Forensic science has lot of career option suitable to your taste, which uses knowledge of mass communication Anyway, I furnish you the details of both courses. M.Sc.Forensic Science: Career : Police Department, Vigilance Department, Law agencies, State Department of forensic science ( by writing Public Service Commission exam), CBI ( by writing UPSC exam---which needs forensic scientist very much) Start private practice by setting up detective agency Go for Teaching in colleges/university Institutes offering M.Sc(Forensic science) Osmania Univ.,Hyderabad Anna Univ.,Chennai Univ. of Madras, Chennai Gujarat Univ., Punjabi Univ. The demand of professionals in forensic science has tremendously increased nowadays due to the increase in crime rate. If you do some specialization, after completing your pg, like Forensic archeology, F.anthropology, F.serology then you can easily get high paid jobs. M.Sc in Microbiology: Career: Bacteriologist, Environmental microbiologist, Food Microbiologist, Bio-medical scientist, Cell biologist, Immunologist, Virologist. Work as a Professor/Teacher Institutes offering microbiology: Christian Medical College, Chennai CMS College of Science, TN AIIMS, New Delhi Andhra Univ., and a lot more All the Best....... |

Re: Which subject to choose out of forensic science and microbiology for post graduation?
Both are interesting subjects as such and promise one much scope; but since you are a final year graduation student (you have written Med, so I suppose you are doing MBBS) and are doing a journalism diploma side-by-side, it will be better for you to opt for specialization in forensic science. Your qualification will open up prospects for coveted positions in fields like Investigative Journalism or careers in defense/police/special forces. MBBS + Specailization in Forensic Science is the basic requirement for performing post-mortem on dead bodies.

Re: Which subject to choose out of forensic science and microbiology for post graduation?
Hi ,
Both of these two courses offer very good career prospects. But, I think you should opt for post graduation in forensic science. Because ,now-a-days forensic science is much on demand. In future, you can work with the criminal investigation department as a forensic expert or other special forces. As you are doing MBBS in medical, that will add some benefits to your further study and career. So go for it. All the best! |
