Re: Which subjects should I choose for IAS Exam being a Computer Science student?
There is no separate Entrance Exam called IAS Exam for the candidates to be placed in IAS by cracking that exam.
Instead, there is a common written exam for the candidates to be placed in various civil services like -Indian Administrative Service -Indian Police Service -Indian Revenue Service -Indian Foreign Service etc. The common written exam is civil services exam. This will be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. First you need to qualify in CSAT Exam which is the civil services preliminary exam and then you should have to get through civil services main examination. Finally, you should give good performance in the Interview to be placed in any of the civil service. You need to opt for 2 optional subjects for civil services main examination and should take the exam on those subjects. There is no Computer Science subject in the list of optional subjects for civil services main examination. So, here are some of the optional subjects which will be good choice for you -Management -Physics -Psychology -Political Science -Public Administration etc. Go through the syllabus for each and every subject and select the subjects where you have some previous knowledge. Wish you all the best. For updated information regarding this exam, I suggest you to visit http://upsc.gov.in/ |

Re: Which subjects should I choose for IAS Exam being a Computer Science student?
you can select Mathematics as your subject.Or geography can also be taken.Geography is preferred more because it does not changes much.Even engineering papers are not selected that much by candidates as those papers are not very high scoring.
