AFCAT i.e Air Force Common Admission Test Syllabus

I am appearing for AFCAT.please let me know the syllabus

Its a common Entrance test for Flying Branch, Technical Branch, Ground Duty officer

You need to be 60% aggregate in all your Years in graduation.(More Details See the Notification)

Syllabus Consists of

Reasoning,
Verbal ability,
General Awareness ,
Numerical ability &
General Aptitude.

Exam will be of 2 hrs Duration with Objective questions.

For preparations:- Books you should refer

R S Agarwal quantitative aptitude, For Gk. Go for manorama, Competition success Review magazine. General Awareness Go Books for IAS.

Any candidate who aspiring to join the Indian Air Force needs to appear for the AFCAT entrance exam.

Only on clearing this exam will the candidates be called for personal interview. The next exam is scheduled to be held on 27th March. It is an multiple choice objective type paper.
The duration is for 2 hours.

There will be a minimum of 100 questions. The candidates needs to prepare in areas like Numerical, Verbal and Reasoning Ability.

There will also be a section in General Knowledge area. Try working out previous year question papers.

For more practice there are books available in the market for Bank PO, MBA entrance exam etc. The pattern of the questions are similar in nature.

The AFCAT is conducted by IAF for the selection of officers in different branches ie FPs, GDOs and EOs.

The syllabus for AFCAT is -
1. Paper 1 Multiple type question with 4 options and syllabus is as
follows-
(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment,
Civics, Basic Science, Defense, Art Culture, Current Affairs,
Politics etc.
(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection,
Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of
Vocabulary.
(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average,
Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and
Spatial.
Paper 2. descriptive type and syllabus is as follows-
Answer the questions from the given passage, Letter writing and
essay on the given topics.

SYLLABUS FOR AFCAT

The syllabus of AFCAT exam is basically is of secondary school examination and hence will test students in the areas mentioned below.
The entrance test will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on :
•verbal ability,
•numerical ability,
•reasoning,
•general awareness and
•aptitude.

IAF has not specified any syllabus for AFCAT i.e Air Force Common Admission Test.

It has only mentioned the exam pattern which consists of objective type questions from 5 sections namely:
General Awareness
Numerical ability
Reasoning
Verbal ability
General Aptitude

The no. of questions is expected to be 100 & time limit is 2 hours.
This exam is similar to other competive exams like AAO exam of LIC or management trainee exam of PNB or bank PO exam. So prepare accordingly.

Syllabus for Airforce Commom Admission Test(AFCAT):

• General Awareness
• Verbal Ability in English
• Numerical Ability
• Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Topics in General Awareness:

History,Sports,Environment,Current affairs,Politics,Geography,civics,Basic science,Art and Defence

Topics in Verbal Ability:

Comprehension,Error detection,Sentence completion,Synonyms,Antonyms and testing of vocabulary

Topics in Numerical Ability:

Decimal fraction,Simplification,Ratio and proportion,Profit & Loss,Percentages and Average

Topics in Reasoning and Military Aptitude test:

Verbal skills and Spatial ability


And this AFCAT exam contains 100 questions.

Each question carries 3 marks.

For each wrong answer 1 marks will deducting.

And total time is 2 hours.

Verbal Ability - Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

The AFCAT Exams Are Of 2 Hr Duration And You Have Will Have 100 Question In This Exam, And All The Questions Are Objective Type, If You Will Give Wrong Answer, Then Your Marks Will Be Decducted. There Is Negative Marking In This Exams.

So, Please Prepare Well These Given Sections, Purchase Some Good Book From The Market And Solve These Book Regularly, Only Then You Will Be Able To Crack the AFCAT Examination.
