If you want to join Indian Army on the basis of your +2 qualification, you may join as Junior Commissioned Officer in the following posts:

• Soldier Clerk
• Store Keeper

For both these posts, you must have scored a minimum of 40% in each subjects and 50% in aggregate. As far as age limit is concerned, you should be within 17 1/2 years-23 years.

Apart from this, you may also join National Defense Academy after qualifying an entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The examination is called NDA exam and is conducted two times a year. To be eligible for the Army Wing, you don't need to have Maths in the +2 level but the test will comprise of General Studies and Maths and you will have to qualify inn both the papers in order to get selected for the next stage of the selection Procedure.
After completion of three years of training at the National Defense Academy, you will be able to join Indian Army as an Officer.
The eligible age to apply for the entrance exam is between 16 1/2 years - 19 years.

Dear Aspirant

After passing 12th with Arts stream you are to join Indian Army as a Soldier.

-To join Indian Army, You will have to appear in NDA(National Defence Academy) entrance test conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year.
NDA held two times in a year as NDA I & NDA II Test.

-Only Unmarried males are eligible to apply foe NDA.



Eligibility conditions for Indian Army via NDA:

• You should have passed 12th standard in any stream from State board or recognized school.
  
• There is no percentage limit mentioned for this exam.
  
• If you are appearing in 12th then you can also apply.
  
• Your age must be between 16.5 to 19 year.
  
• You must be citizen of India.

Important Schedule for NDA Exam 2012:

For NDA I

• Notification Announced : 31/12/2011
  
• Last date to apply : 30/01/2012

For NDA II

• Last Date of Submission of Application form : 04/06/2012
  
• Commencement of Examination : 19/08/2012

Selection procedure for NDA:

The selection process for NDA is divded into three stages

1. Written Exam 2. Interview 3. Medical test.





Exam Pattern for NDA written test:

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects:

1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

Yes, you can join Indian Army after 12th from Arts strem for which you have to appear for the NDA examination.

NDA-NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA -II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass from any stream from a recognised Central/State Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age, is eligible to apply for NDA.

The candidate having passed 12th with other then Science subject can only be eligible to apply for Indian Army of NDA. After successfully complete the entrance test, the candidate has to under gone Physical fitness test followed by finally Medical Test.

If you are interested for Indian Army then wait for the forthcoming NDA-II 2012 exam, the notification of which will come out in the month of May 2012.

I am happy to inform you that you can join Indian Army after passing 12th wth arts stream.

For this you have to qualify the N.D.A exam.

N.D.S is National Defence Academy.

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

The age limit for N.D.A exam is 16.5-19 year.
There are three steep of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

Date of Notification:-05.05.2012
Last date of receipt of form:- 04.06.2012(MONDAY)
