To join in as IPS officer, you need to apply for the civil services exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and is held every year. You need to satisfy the eligibility standards in order to apply for the exam and they include:

Every candidate is treated in same manner either he/she is from arts, commerce, science or engineering. Relaxation in age limit is given to OBC and SC/ST candidates. If you have done your bachelor's degree in any stream or discipline from a recognized university, you can apply for the Civil Services exam. The age limit is 21-30 years. The last date for submission of form is 12/06/2015. You can apply online for the exam at www.upsconline.nic.in after 16/05/2015.
