SCRA Stands for Special Class Railway Apprentices and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every Year.

The approximate number of vacancies, to be filled on the results of the examination is 42 and Out of this, 4 vacancies are reserved for
physically challenged candidates.

To Apply for SCRA Examination you Have to complete your 12Th examination OR Graduate degree course with Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as their degree subjects, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for SCRA Examination.

The Online Registration Process of SCRA Examination was already Started and the last date of Fill the Online application form : 21/Nov/2011.

The examination will be held on 29/Jan/2012.

To appear for this examination You must have attained the age of 17 years and must not have attained the age of 21 years on 1st January, 2012.

Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

The upper age limit is relaxable as follows :

>> For OBC Candidates : 3 Year Age relaxation is applicable

>> For SC/ST Candidates : 5 Year Age Relaxation is applicable

Dear friend,
You have not mentioned for which examination or job you want to know the age relaxation provided to the OBC candidate.
Generally according to the central govt. rules for all central govt. jobs the age relaxation for the OBC candidates is 3 years.The SC/ST candidates are given 5 years age relaxation.

You can't mention any kind of exams so i have listed you common exam like UPSC exam.Maximum govt sector follow this criteria.

DETAILS ABOUT UPSC EXAM

Civil service exam exam conducted by UPSC.There is no marks criteria.Only graduate are applicable for you.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Candidate should have minimum graduation degree with any discipline from a recognized university.

AGE CRITERIA:

For General category candidate,age should be between 21 to 27 years
For OBC category candidates age should be between 21 to 30 years
For SC/ST category candidates age should be between 21 to 35 years.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:
4 attempts for General category candidates
7 attempts for OBC category candidates
Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates

The age relaxation for different categories are
1.For general up to 18-30 years.
2.For OBC candidates 18-33 years.
3.For sc/st candidates 18-35 years.

Dear candidate,
there is different rules for age relaxtion of OBC class in different department's exam.
In defence sector there is no rule for relexation for any reerved class candidate.
But in the deparments where there is the rule for upper age relaxation for obc class, it is of three years in the upper age limit.
Eg. 21 to 30 years will be 21 to 33 years for obc candidates.

Hi.

I am providing you the age criteria for UPSC and CS exams :

1. If you want to apply for the IAS/IPS the age limit for the General Category is 21-30 years.

However OBC are given a relaxation of 3 more years i.e 21-33 years.

2. If you apply for the Army NDA 1, age is from 16.5 to 19. This is fixed for all.

3. If you apply for SCRA age limit varies from 17 to 21 years. In this also its almost fixed for all.

So now you may apply if you fulfill the age criteria. However apart from SCRA, the other exams would fruit to be more beneficial for you if you exceed the SCRA age limit just in case.
