There is different cutoff for different M.tech exams. GATE is the top level exam for M.TEch admission . Cut off of any exam depends upon its hardness and number of candidates and no. of seats available for that program.

Dear friend !!
The score or the ranking of GATE exam is now done on a pecentile basis.. usuaay if you have a percentile greater than 90% percentile then probably you will be eligible for IITs...but these trends are subject to change and not confirmed... Good luck !!
