Re: What is the difference between HT and LT motor
HELLO,
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HT AND LT MOTORS ARE : FOR THE SAME POWER RATING THE SIZE OF THE LT MOTOR IS MUCH BIGGER THAN HT MOTOR. But the insulation level in HT motor is more straightener than LT motor. The current is very high in same rating LT motor so the rating of the protection device will be higher than HT type motor. So generally we have taken HT motor in bigger size like greater than 100 Kw.that can be taken in LT if HT is not available there & space is available. IN SHORT : LT Motor Worke Under 1KV & HT Motor Work Over The 1KV LT Motor Required more current then HT Motor GOOD LUCK |

Re: What is the difference between HT and LT motor
dear member,
I difine below difference between HT & LT. fOR THE SAME POWER RATING THE SIZE OF THE LT MOTOR IS MUCH BIGGER THAN HT MOTOR. But the insulaton level in HT motor is more strenghter than LT motor. the current is very high in same rating LT motor so the rating of the protection device will be higher than HT type motor. so generally we have taken HT motor in bigger size like geater than 100 Kw. that can be taken in LT if HT is not available there & space is availabe. THE RATING OF THE PROTECTING ELEMENTS FOR THE LT MOTOR IS MORE WHEN COMPARED TO THE HT MOTOR AS LT MOTOR CARIES MORE CURRENT. |

Re: What is the difference between HT and LT motor
DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY OF SUPPLY VOLTAGE THE MOTORS CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS
FOLLOWS: - 1 AS PER AMERICAN/EUROPEAN PRACTICE: - A) LT RANGE MOTORS – 230 VOLTS, 415 VOLTS B) MEDIUM VOLTAGE RANG- 690 VOLTS TO 3300 VOLTS C) HT RANGE MOTORS – 6600 VOLTS AND 11000 VOLTS. 2) AS PER INDIAN PRACTICE: - LT RANGE MEANS 230 VOLTS, 415VOLTS AND 690 VOLTS AND HT MEANS 3LT Motor works below 415 volts HT Motor works above 415 volts 300, 6600 AND 11000 VOLTS RANGE. |

Re: What is the difference between HT and LT motor
How is energy being saved in HT (High Tension/Voltage) motors? As we know power consumed by a motor is 1.732 x V x I x power factor. If we reduce the current by employing HT motor then on the same time we are increasing the voltage factor. Thus the product of voltage and current will remain same. Then how energy is being saved in HT motors? Please reply by giving some example or comparison

Re: What is the difference between HT and LT motor
LT motor is 230 volts to 415 volt and 690 volts
Ht motor 6.6 kv to 11kv Lt motor is space cosum is less Ht motor is spece cosum in high Lt motor insulation stranth is low Ht motor insulation stranth high Lt motor product is pasta Ht motor product is slow |
