Re: What are the different subjects in MBA course?
MBA Eligibility Criteria:
If you want to pursue MBA then you should have minimum 50 percent of marks at graduation level or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university of institution. Although with a lesser percentage even you will be eligible to give a number of MBA entrance exams. But for some of the popular entrance exams like CAT. SNAP etc. a minimum of 50 percent of marks is required. If you are a final year student then also you are eligible to give this examination. Basically there is no age limit for giving MBA. Most of the entrance exams do not mention any age criteria as such. There are a list of popular MBA Entrance Exams which you can give to pursue this course from different institutions in India. Out of them the top ones have been listed below: List of MBA Entrance Exams: Common Admission Test (CAT) Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Electronic Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) Faculty of Management Studies Entrance Test (FMS) List of MBA Specialization: Finance Marketing Human Resource International Business Operation Management Hospitality and Tourism Pharmaceutical Management Entrepreneurial Management Insurance and Risk Management Insurance and Risk Management Retail Business Management Logistics and Supply Chain Management Real Estate Management Telecom Management MBA Subjects: Core Subjects: Business Strategy Financial Management Managing Processes Economics and Public Policy Managerial Economics Data and Decisions Marketing Elective Subjects: Entrepreneurship and Innovation Public Sector Management International Business Management Technology and Operations Management Organisations, Human Resources and Managerial Development Strategy, Competition and Governance Finance and Accounting Marketing Out of all the MBA Entrance Exams CAT or the Common Admission Test is the most competitive and unpredictable exam. This exam is conducted by the IIMs. Although it is the most difficult exam to crack still that does not stops lacks of people from appearing for the examination every year. Since it is the dream of every MBA aspirant to crack this exam so let me discuss in details about the exam. You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or AICTE approved institution to sit for this exam. Even final year students are also eligible. At graduation level it is mandatory to score 50 percent or more to be considered eligible. Since it is conducted by the IIMs therefore no university accepts this score. But along with IIMs several autonomous institution and list of B-Schools accepts this score. For the written exam questions will come from the following sections: Verbal Ability and Reasoning Analytical and Logical Reasoning Quantitative Skills Data Interpretation Comprehension It is basically a 120 minutes paper and generally multiple choice type questions comes. For every wrong answer 1/3rd marks will be deducted from the original score and you will get points based on the marks alloted per question. So be careful when choosing the answer of a particular question. Wild guess and all should be ignored as it can backfire at the last moment. Apart from this exam you can also give MAT exam if you do not have the percentage they are asking for. Even high MAT scores can give you the opportunity of doing the course from a top B-School. MAT is conducted by the Centre for Management Services of AIMA for four times a year in the month of February, May, September and December. For this exam you just need to hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Since they have not mentioned any percentage which you have to secure no matter what therefore even pass marks would do. Even final year students are considered eligible and there is no age criteria such. You can give this exam as many times you want. Questions for the exam will come from the following sections: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global Environment. All in all there will be 200 questions for the exam and duration of the paper is two and a half hours. Generally objective type questions comes for this section. MBA Entrance Exam Reference Books:
