What are the numbers of attemps for IFS exam?


Hi..iam from arunachal pradesh.i have a little knowledge about service in ifs but i am a serious aspirant of this service.please do let me know the numbers of attemp i can do.

Hello Friend!

IFS stands for INDIAN FOREST SERVICE. IFS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission of Indian once in a year for recruitment of candidate into Indian Forest Services.


Eligibility criteria for IFS examination:
  • You should have completed Bachelor degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from recognized university.
  • Your Age should be in between 21 to 30 years for General category, 21 to 33 years for OBC category and 21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates.
  • You should be Indian Citizen. Both Male & Female candidates are eligible to apply for this exam.



Number Of Attempts allowed for IFS Exam:-

4 Attempt for General Candidates

7 Attempts for OBC Candidates.

There is No Limits For SC/ST Candidates.



Important Dates for IFS Exam:
  • Date of Notification: 14.04.2012
  • Last Date for Receipt of Application: 14.05.2012
  • Date of Commencement of Exam: 14.07.2012

Total marks for written examination: 1400 Marks

IFS stands for indian forest service.


To join IFS,you need to give UPSC civil services exams.



Eligibility Criteria for IFS:


Educational Qualification:

*Bachelor's degree in Science with at least one of the following Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry; or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any stream) / Forestry/ Agriculture; or MBBS.


Age limit:

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs .

Number of Attempts:


Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

IFS - INDIAN FOREST SERVICE/INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICE, to become an IFS officer one has to appear and crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST/PH candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years, is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam.

Those applying for Indian Forest Service should have passed Graduation with Physics, Chemistry, Botany/Zoology/Veterinary Science/Agriculture/Forestry etc.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary exam

Civil Service Main Exam

Personal Interview

Regarding number of attempts to IFS:-

General candidate - Four

OBC candidate - Seven

SC/ST/PH candidate - No limit

Eligibility :

Age limit:
21 to 30 years for general category
33 years for OBC
35 years for SC/ST

Educational qualification:
any degree with 50% of marks of a recognized university

Exam date:
orelim in 1st week of May
Mains in 2nd week of Oct

No Of Attempts:
Four times for General
Seven times for OBC
no limit for SC/ST

Exam pattern:
it consists of two parts preliminary , mains
preliminary exam: it is of objective type , which is a qualifying exam
Main exam: it consists of written exam & interview

IFS (INDIAN FOREST SERVICE) exam is conducted by the UPSC (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION).

How many attempts?

4years for the general candidates,
7years for the OBC candidates and there is no restrictions for the SC/ST candidates.

Eligibility criteria for the IFS exam:

IFS stands for Indian foresty service. IFS exam is conducted by the upsc once in a year.

Eligibility Criteria:
you should be a citizen of india.
The candidate should be complete graduation with forest, biology, botany etc from any recognized university.
The candidate age limit should be 21 to 30 years. The age relaxation for obc candidates is 3 years and the sc/st candidates is 5 years.
The both male and females are eligible this exam.

No.of attempts:
4 Attempt for General
Candidates
7 Attempts for OBC
Candidates.
There is No Limits For
SC/ST Candidates.

for OB 7 TIMES
and for SC/ST there is no limit

I.F.S is Indian Forestry Services.

I.F.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Eligibility For I.F.S:-

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream from recognized university.
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science,
Botany
Chemistry
Geology
Mathematics
Physics,
Statistics
Zoology or a

Engineering.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year

For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
