You need to have a bachelor's degree (3-year course) or equivalent in any discipline recognised by any Indian University / AICTE as eligible for post-graduate studies with atleast 45% aggregate score..

You can apply while you are in your final year of graduation. If you do get through the admission test, you will be given provisional admission on the condition that you provide your mark sheet and a certificate of passing by a certain date.

MBA stands for the Master of Business Administration. It is 2 years post graduation course in management studies. There is no specific percentage criteria in graduation to apply for the Master of Business Administration.

It all depends on which entrance exam you will appear for. As you may know that admission for Master of Business Administration is given through the entrance exam. There are various entrance exams to apply like:

JMET

TANCET

CAT

MAT

GMAT

XAT

Each entrance exam has its own criteria. If you are confused regarding which entrance exam to appear for, let me help you out. Your first priority should be Common Admission Test.

The Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. You should apply for it since apart from IIMs that are the best management colleges in the country, IITs, NITs and many other reputed colleges offer admission for the management studies.

CAT Eligibility

1. You should have a bachelor's degree.

2. 50 percent marks in the bachelor's course.

3. SC/ST need 45 percent marks.

The other exams should be considered only if you are not eligible for the Common Admission Test. Since you belong to Schedule Tribe, if you have 45 percent marks in graduation then there should be no issue in applying for the Common Admission Test.

However if your marks are below 45 percent then you will have to consider some other option. In case when candidate has low percentage in graduation, generally the Management Aptitude Test is recommended.

MAT is conducted 4 times in a year. It is recommended because there is no percentage criteria for it. Therefore as long as you have passing marks in graduation, you can appear for the Management Aptitude Test.

MBA stands for Masters in Business Administration. It is a post graduate course whose duration is two years. There are various types of MBA programmes one can apply for depending on what your requirement is you have to choose that.

Types of MBA Programmes:-
  • Full-time MBA
  • Accelerated MBA
  • Distance learning MBA
  • Online MBA
  • Executive MBA (EMBA)
  • EMBA – Professional (PMBA)
  • Global EMBA (also known as GEMBA)
  • Modular EMBA
  • Part-time MBA
Generally there is no strict eligibility criteria to satisfy when it comes to pursuing MBA. If you are eyeing the top B-Schools then it is important to score at least 50% of marks at graduation level to give yourself chances of applying for the top MBA Entrance exams like CAT as the renowned B-Schools always gives more weightage to the scores you have secured in the top MBA Entrance Exams.

But if you have failed to secure 50% of marks or more then also you can sit for various other MBA Entrance Exams where only pass marks needs to be secured and on scoring good marks in these exams like MAT too you can get top colleges. Some institutes even gives direct admission to students. But i would recommend you to first gather detailed information about the institute's placement records, quality of the faculty members etc before saying yes. When pursuing MBA needless to say the institute you choose matters a lot here.

Top MBA Entrance Exams:-
  • Common Admission Test (CAT)
  • Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
  • Xavier Admission Test (XAT)
  • NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT)
  • SNAP – Symbiosis National Aptitude Test
  • FMS Entrance Test – Faculty of Management Studies Entrance Test
  • IBSAT – ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
If you wish to sit for the CAT exam then you need to be a graduate first in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university and in addition to that you also have to secure 50% of marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. SC/ST students needs to get 45% of marks instead.

For MAT exam you just need to be a graduate and your graduation marks is of little importance here. So you just need to guarantee 40% of marks at graduation level or the pass marks in short.

If you want to apply for the MBA programmes in any one of the Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University then again you need 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) for all the MBA Programmes.

For NMAT too you need to have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in first attempt at graduation level. Along with that for all the Full Time programs, candidates with two or more years of post-qualification work experience is required.

Hope this helps :-> :->
