HOW TO BECOME A SOFTWARE ENGINEER IN FUTURE? I really want to appreciate your involvement and interest to become a Software Engineer in future when you are studying in your 10th Grade, am pretty sure you will be one in future.. Steps to follow to become a Software Engineer as follows, -> Complete your 10th Grade with good marks in sense above 80% is highly appreciable. -> Do your HSC either in CBSE or ICSE it doesn't matter but look through that you again get above 80% in your board examination because this decides your college to take up your course. -> Select the good college for doing your Engineering course, as you are interested to become a Software Engineer its better to take up Computer Science course as your field of studies or either Information Technology. -> You can also opt for Electronics and Communication course only if you are interested in Electronics side also if not drop the idea and go for Computer Science course. -> The only advantage you have in taking up Electronics and Communication is you can either go for Electronics based company or Software based company but note that you have to cross through Electronics subjects if you take up this course... -> By End of 4th year end you will be having campus placement coming in to your college where various Software companies selects the best candidates. -> To get placed in the companies you need to be have 60-70% in 10th,12th and Graduation plus skills like aptitude, technical and Communication which you can improve while you come into college. -> And that's it if you follow the above steps you can become a Software Engineer simple as that.. The question which you asked about whether CBSE as hand over ICSE for JEE exam the answer is NO there is no upper hand in which board you study but how much you score in the Joint Entrance Exam.. So prepare well do your board exam good, and get into IIT and become a Software Engineer and start a company of your own pretty soon.. Any more queries, feel free to leave a post in our forum... Re: What is the procedure to become a software engineer?
You must love
programming ! If you're in junior or senior high, and you haven't yet explored programming, do so. If you're not interested in math or science to begin with, you should probably explore other options. Get all the math you can in high school . Try to advance to college level math before leaving high school, you'll need a ton of math to complete any Computer Science program and Engineering program. College Curriculum Plan on getting a degree . With all the success stories of college drop outs becoming billionaire CEOs in the 90's, there is a certain lure that "as long as I think outside the box and have outstanding problem solving and programming skills I don't need a four year degree". It's difficult for entry level software engineers to obtain a position without a four year degree. Qualify your degree by what you want to do . If your love is game design and you wish to enter that industry as a game programmer, you'll need a Computer Science degree. If you want to work for IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Google, etc., then a Computer Science degree may be good for you. If you're looking to work for a non- technical corporation building mostly business applications, consider a degree in MIS (Management Information Systems) or one of the many business technical degrees now offered. This type of degree is best for most, because it provides management and general business skills and doesn't focus on a lot of information that will not be useful to most. Extra College Curriculum Supplement your classwork with personal research . Search job boards and note what technologies are hot and buzzing. The colleges simply can't keep up with everything, so you'll need to buy additional technical books and teach yourself. Unless you're planning to get your foot in the door through an intern position, try to find side projects while in school . No one wants to take a risk and hire someone fresh out of school without projects under their belt. Internships are great at taking care of this problem, but unfortunately a lot of students can't land an internship or do so only to discover they would prefer to work elsewhere. The only way to give yourself options is to find some non- classroom work to put on your resume. Develop contacts with software engineers . If possible try to develop some software projects under their guidance. The Difference Between Engineer & Programmer Understand that software engineering is not the same as programming . Every software engineer knows how to program, but not every programmer is a software engineer. Here's the principal difference between the two: Software engineering is typically a group effort, with differing and often fluid roles and responsibilities for the group members. Engineering projects have timelines, release dates, and considerable interaction between people responsible for its various components. |

i want to become a software engineer in future , so can anyone please explain in details the procedure ? Being a software Engineer , would like to tell you that software industry is at boom. You should aim for Software Engineering, for this you need to appear in AIEEE, IIT or else state level technical entrance exam . You need to take Maths as subject in 12th. Else you can also opt for MCA also its upto you. Prepare well for that till you will get more information on this. Best Luck |

software engineering is an approach to developing software that attempts to treat it as a formal process more like traditional engineering than the craft that many programmers believe it is.
We talk of crafting an application , refining and polishing it , as if it were a wooden sculpture , not a series of logic engineer art. Programming falls some where between an art and a science The following are some of Software company : Wipro infosys hcl tcl tata Game loft |

Re: What is the procedure to become a software engineer?
dear friend,
You want to become a software engineer in future then, you have complete the bachelor degree course in streams like------------- 1.Computer science 2.Information technology.. As you have done 10th class wright now, then go for the 12th class in science stream.. After completion of 12th class in science stream you have to go for bachelor's degree in technical field.. Then pursue the B.tech/BE course in above mentioned streams.. After completion of B.tech/BE course in any of the above mentioned course you can get a job in big software exporter companies as a software developer... The IT companies where you can apply for a job are as follows:-------------- 1.TCS 2.CTS 3.WIPRO 4.INFOSYS 5.IBM 6.CAPE GEMINI etc.. You can appear in the campus drive of any of these IT companies... The campus drive consists of three steps---------- 1.Aptitude test 2.GD session 3.Interview.. After clearing all these steps you will be able to get a job as a software developer.. So, first try to complete the BE/B.tech course. All the best... |

Re: What is the procedure to become a software engineer?
dear friend,
Step - 1 : As you are currently in 10th standard so please do you 10 th examination very carefully at first. Here you have to get at least 85% to become or to get chance in some some good institutes. Step - 2 : Then prepare for 12 th standard. Here also you have to get at least 85% to become or to get chance in some some good institutes. Step - 3 : Next get admission in I.I.T. or N.I.T. 's in C.S.E. (Computer Science & Engineering) or I.T. (Information Technology) department. There you can do your master degree and other higher educations also. Re: What is the procedure to become a software engineer?
Hi
first of all CBSE and ICSE both are very recognized board. and one doesn't have advantage over other. both are good and both are equally preferred. Since you have done your 10th at present. It would be good to take math and science in your +2. Certain junior college has the option of vocational in IT or computer science. If you can take them it would be an added advantage to you. Once you have done your 12th with good marks, you will have to appear for various engineering entrance exam and score very good marks. With the engineering entrance exam marks, you can choose your college and branch. Since you want to become software engineer, you should go for - computer science - IT engineering All the best |

Re: What is the procedure to become a software engineer?
Hi,
To become a software engineer, you will have to study 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as your subjects. Although, CBSE will be a bit better but you may study with ICSE board also if you wish so. After Completing your 12th, you will have to appear for various engineering entrance examinations and get admission into 4 years course of B.E. / B.Tech. After completing this course, you can become software engineer in any of the hundreds of IT companies all over the world. Try to get above 60% throughout your career which is the criteria in most of the software companies. Thank you. |
