Re: What is the procedure to do PG in Abroad if I am interested in doing PG in Abroad?
In UK there are only few med schools that awards you MS degree or conduct PG level courses on medicine. Once you graduate you will have to find job with NHS. And you will progress through different levels of training and finally become a consultant.
The process is tiring but the good part is you will be learning a lot from day to day work experience. And in order to proceed to next stages of training one has to complete MRCP or MRCOG etc as part of the process. Essentially you are looking at about 8–9yrs of training to become a consultant. On the other hand if you are doing PG in India you will be a specialist at the end of 3 yr PG course. If settling in UK is your goal then as soon as you get familiar with NHS system the better and be prepared for 8–10yr commitment to become a consultant. If you want to settle in India and want fellowship or extra degrees then finish your PG and then look for fellowships. Abroad is a very broad term. I will restrict my answer to the countries which MCI recognizes. ... So if you want to pursue PG, then you are required to take these respective screening tests for the country from where you want to pursue your post graduation. |
