IPS stands for Indian Police service.

Minimum educational qualification required for IPS Exam is Bachelor degree .There is not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree .

Your age should be in between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates .Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

There is a restriction for attempts .The no attempts allowed for IPS exam is given below-

General Candidate can maximum 4 Times
OBC Candidate can Maximum 7 Times
SC/ST there is no attempt Limit

IPS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam , Mains Exam ,Medical Test , Physical Test and Personal Interview .

if you are lokking for ips then its very good.
you can be an ips officer through passing the upsc exam.
the eligiblity criteria for upsc exam are as follows:
1. passed in graduation from a recognized university.
2. maximum age bar:
gen- 30 years.
obc- 35 years.
sc/st- 40 years.
3. maximum number of attempts:
gen- 4
obc- 7.
sc/st- no maximum limit.
the exam will be held in three different phases:
phase-1 preliminary test- this test is of objective type.
phase-2 this test is of subjective nature. you will have to writte essay type answers in your selected two papers, and hindi and english are two other compulsory papers.
phase-3 interview- this test is conducted to judge your personality, whether you are capable of handling situtaion or not, wheter honest or dishonest, how you handle the group and all these things,
if you clears all three things with a good rank than you will be called for the training and than after you can join.
