Qualification for being an IPS officer is as follow: A graduate degree from a recognized university and its equivalent. and Age Limit is as follow: Minimum age 21 Year and Maximum age 35 Year. 5 Year age relaxation for ST/ST Category Candidates and 3 Year age relaxation for OBC Category Candidates. selection process: 1.preliminary exam 2.Main exam 3.Interview Important dates: issues of the notification: 04-02-2012 last date for apply: 05-03-2012 preliminary exam dates: 20-05-2012 Final interview: -05-10-2012 for more information visit : www.upsc.gov.in all the best |

I.P.S ---- INDIAN POLICE SERVICES To get in to this you must write an Entrance exam called CSAT C.S.A.T ----- CIVIL SERVICES APTITUDE TEST And the minimum " Qualification is Graduation " Minimum age must be 21 years Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years And Of Course there is an Age relaxation for the reserved candidates OBC - - - - - - 3 YEARS SC / ST - - - - - 5 YEARS OC - - - - - -- NO RELAXATION You must have secured a minimum of 60% in Academics GOOD LUCK |

Dear friend IPS means Indian Police Service. IPS exam conduct through Civil Service exam. This exam conducted by UPSC.
Eligibilty Criteria :- Candidate should be completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized University. Candidate should be an Indian. Age limit 21 to 30 years for General category candidates. Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years and SC/ST category candidates 5 years age relaxation. Eligibility for IPS: 1. IPS exam conducted by UPSC board 2. The age limit for civil service exam is 21-30 years, relaxation for 3years for obc, relaxation for 5years is given for sc/st's 3. The no.of chances for filling the form is general category-4, obc-7 and no limit for sc/st 4. Candidates must complete graduation from recognized board in India. all the best |

IPS stands for Indian Police Service nd to become an IPS officer, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted every year by UPSC.
Qualification and Age limit for IPS, Civil Service Exam:- -The candidate must be an Indian National. -Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or passed in any stream of education from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years. -Should have possessed good Physical and Mental Fitness. Apart from this the candidate should have minimum prescribed Physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. To become IPS Officer, one has to give the written exam conducted by UPSC. The eligibility required is any degree from recognized university with minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years for general category. There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates. The maximum age limit for OBC Category is 33 years. The maximum age limit for SC/ST Category is 35 years. Exam Pattern: 1. Preliminary exam 2. Main exam 3. Interview Number of Attempts: Four attempts for general Seven for OBCs No limit for SCs/STs |

The age limit for IPS examination is 21 to 30 years for General category candidates.
Age relaxation is available for other categories which is given below: SC/ST - 5 years relaxation OBC - 3 years relaxation Ex Servicemen - 5 years relaxation So if you fulfill the eligibility of an Ex Servicemen then you will get 5 years of age relaxation in the Civil Services examination. Also you must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University then only you can apply for the exam. Number of Attempts Allowed: General Category - 4 attempts OBC Category - 7 attempts SC/ST Category - No limit Examination Pattern: The 1st stage will be an Preliminary Test which will have 2 papers of 200 marks each. The questions will be objective type in nature and there will be negative marking for wrong answers. If you clear the cut off marks in Preliminary then you will be eligible to apply for Mains exam which will be an descriptive type paper having optional subjects and compulsory subjects. The last stages will be personality test and it will also carry marks. The merit will decide whether you will be selected for the IPS cadre or not. Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation with any of the steam from a recognized university. -The candidates who have completed the Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply. Age criteria : You should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. In order to make entry into IPS or any other civil service, one should have to crack the following selection procedure Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview CSAT Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.
