what is research design ? various design explain?...please tell me the info

We can define Research Design in simple words as " the blue print of the study".

Research design includes the detailed study and outline how an investigation will take place. It includes:

>>How is data collected.

>>What instruments will be employed for data collection.

>>Means to analyze the data collected.

In research design we are concerned about " What is going on" and " Why it is going on".

There are different types of Research Design:

1. Descriptive design.

2. Correlational design.

3. Semi Experimental design.

4. Experimental design.

5. Meta analytic design.

Some of the examples of research design are case study, ethnographic study, ground theory study etc.
