What are the subjects part of PCM group in 11th standard? Do we need to concentrate only on PCM subjects or others too?

What are the subjects part of PCM group in 11th standard? Do we need to concentrate only on PCM subjects or others too? If it's only PCM cut off required for college admission then why other subjects are needed? Can you please guide me on this?

The subjects in 11th standard PCM group are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and you will have English and one more language. There will be total 6 subjects in your 11th standard PCM group. You need to concentrate more on PCM group subjects and you need to score at least 80% aggregate marks in your higher secondary course to get admission in best college for pursuing your higher studies.

The stream or group PCM in higher secondary school academics means that Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the compulsory subjects in one's academics but it does not mean that one does not have to concentrate on other subjects.

In general in most of the board of examination one has to study five subjects with all having same weightage. Out of these five subjects three are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics where as other two subjects includes language subjects and an optional subject like Music, Physical education, etc. .

Generally, PCM percentage of marks is taken into account for deciding cut off marks for admission in most of colleges. But in some colleges, English is also taken into account. In Delhi University, top four subject average is considered for deciding cut off marks for admission.

You should pay special attention to PCM subjects and but must not ignore other subjects. English and one additional subject also plays vital role in overall percentage of marks. So, do not ignore any subject.
