GATE [Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering]

This exam is an entrance exam for M.Tech courses.On the basis of the GATE score an engineer can get admission in M.Tech courses through out India.

Some colleges where one can get admission through the GATE exam are:

• IIT-Delhi
• IIT-Powai
• IIT-chennai
• IIT-Surat
• NIT-Jamshedpur
• IIT-Roorkee
• Manipal university
• Nirma institute

Few of the public sector companies have also started considering the GATE score for recruitment.
A cutoff is prepared of those who apply through GATE score and accordingly recruitment is done.

Some PSU's that recruit through GATE exam are:

• BHEL
• BSNL
• SAIL
• NTPC
• IOCL etc....

IES [Indian Engineering Services]

This exam is conducted by UPSC for jobs in government organizations.This exam is conducted under the civil services exam.

• The eligibility for this exam is given below:

• your Age between 21 to 30 years
• you should be an Indian citizenship
• Engineering degree holder in the notified stream
• Age relaxation is available for reserved categories.
• Attempt limit is of 4 times for open candidate, 7 times for OBC candidates and no limit for SC/ST candidates.
