My father was a Class 3 PSU employee .He is retired now.My mother is a class 3 government employee.I have a OBC and non creamy layer certificate which was issue in 2008.Do I need to get the certificate again?

The validity of the certificate varies from state to state.

As you did not mention the state it is tough to give the exact information.

The average validity for the certificate will be 6 months.

The creamy layer is a term used in Indian politics to refer to the relatively wealthier and better educated members of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who are not eligible for government sponsored educational and professional benefit programs. The term was introduced by the Sattanathan Commission in 1971, which directed that the "creamy layer" should be excluded from the reservations (quotas) of civil posts and services granted to the OBCs.

As you have asked that you have issued your certificate in 2008 now it is not required to issue any more it is issued once .

Can I get OBC NON-CREAMY LAYER Certificate for my son who is appearing in Engineering Exam held in this year-2013. Please guide us.

Hello Aspirant,

OBC certificate in guided by the central govt.It has validity period of three years from the date of issue.Only a certificate in the prescribed is required to be submitted by the concerned candidate every year till 3 years.

Since you have crossed this period,so you require to get it issued fresh one.THe government has revised the income limit from 4.5 lacx to 6 .o lac recently.The income from salary is not included in certain conditions i.e if the parents are not a direct class ll or class officer.

The above limit of income is from the business only.

hi, i have an OBC- non creamy layer certificate which was issued in 2010 ,,but when i went to get my documents verified at the interview stage for IBPS 'specialist officers post-2013'
i was not allowed to sit for the interview as they wanted the certificate to be issued for not more than 1 year i,e after 2012.

i am resident of bihar & have cleared UPSC medical services exam 2014. holding obc caste & non creamy layer certificate issued by district magistrate sitamarhi bihar in 2013. bihar govt gazette on the issue specifies that no obc nclc will be issued repeatedly. where ever it is required will be submitted with an affidavit regrding icrrent income &residential status of the candidate. am i still needed to go for renewal anyway? advise.
