hi i had taken gate exam..my all india ranking is 2760 and my gate score is 583...is there any counseling to attend for gate to select m.tech seats in good colleges....if there is counseling when will be the counselling...

There is no one central counselling for GATE,
different colleges have different counselling date.
counselling of GATE for m.tech is generally going from may to august.

Counselling for IIT's has over for this year. For NIT's 3rd counselling is going on. VIT has completed its admissions. So hurry up and find a good college which suits for your GATE rank. Apply for as much private institutions as you can which you can find adds in Hindu/ any other English news paper. All the best for your future.

You did not given required information about your Mtech entry in to any college through GATE. You have to mention these details also
1. Your Branch
2. Do you have any reservation facility according to government of India norms and conditions mentioned in GATE.

And finally
3. To which state do you belong. ( Because different states will start counselling (through GATE) in different dates, for example in Andhra Pradesh notification for GATE qualified candidates to apply for the applications for counselling has started two days earlier and the last date to apply is by the end of this month i.e., July 2010) So please be specific so that we can help you exactly. Don't worry you will get a good college. All the best for your future.

First of all sponsored seats in any university or college is the seat for a person who is working in a company/industry. The company should permit the candidate to study his further education because company will bear all the money expenses required for him to study i.e., tuition fee, hostel, mess and any other charges pertaining to his studies. Generally this kind of opportunity will be available for candidates whose work experience is minimum of 2 years( from the same company which he is willing to bear his educational charges). So for sponsored seats first you have to work in a good company, if you are working for more than 2 years then ask your H.R. dept., manager to permit you to study higher degree through company. If you are still a student then write any competitive exam and get it. All the best for your future.

there are various phases of counselling in iit.
after you score card arrives,result had came on 15 march.
the different iit will call upon for online or postal application fill-up,which will go till last may.
interviews there for so,tentative dates will come on sites.

the counseling of the most of the iit as well as nit is finished however there is some states and other university for which counseling is going on,so if you have gate score then go for the rest of the counseling,and if you already get chance in counseling the best of the luck for your next carrier,

but still there are some colleges which are conducting counselling just like bc roy engg college durgapur,aryabhatta engg colleges etc.

in the gate prospectus ,its written to sumbit an application directly to the iit zone office from where you sumbitted your form.
you have to pay an Rs 500 too.
