Where, when and how to apply for IPS exam and what is the syllabus?
I am in second year of BCA and I want to apply for IPS exams next year. So, I request you to please guide me where and how to apply and what is the syllabus and exam pattern of the exam.

The full form of IPS is Indian Police Services.
Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services examination for Indian Police Services. The eligibility criteria for the examination is: 1. Bachelor's degree passed or pursuing final year candidates can apply for this examination. It clearly means that you can apply for exam in final year of Bachelor of Computer Application. 2. The minimum age limit for exam is 21 years. When notification is released, you can apply for examination at official website of Union Public Service Commission. It has three stages, first stage is preliminary exam, second stage is mains examination and final stage is interview. UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination every year. The examination is conducted for recruitment as an I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S etc.
The required qualification to appear for examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognized university. The age limit is 21-32 years with relaxation in the upper limit for reserved category. The entrance examination is conducted in three stages as Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination every year, so if you want recruitment as an I.P.S officer, you have to qualify in all stages of examination.
The examination is conducted in three stages as Preliminary, Mains and Interview. To qualify in examination you need to have good knowledge of History, Arts and Culture, Polity, Geography, Economics, General Science etc. The required minimum eligibility to appear for examination is that:- Candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Second year Bachelor of Computer Application candidates can not apply for Civil Services examination for Indian Police Services. The academic qualification required for Civil Services examination is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final year BCA candidates can apply for Civil Services examination.
The age limit for Civil Services examination is 21 to 32 years. There are three stages of this exam: Preliminary exam. Mains examination. Personal interview. Preliminary examination is of qualifying nature. It has two papers, first paper is of general awareness and second paper is of Civil Services Aptitude Test. The notification for this exam in 2018 will be released in February after that you can download updated syllabus from website of UPSC. |

The examination is conducted in three stages as:-
Preliminary. Mains. Interview. It is compulsory to qualify in each stage of examination to become eligible for next and after final qualifying in interview stage will become eligible for recruitment as an I.P.S. The syllabus contains questions of Indian History, World History, Geography, Political Science, Economics of India and World. There are also optional paper in Mains examination. So, you must have to prepare for examination with determination, dedication and devotion to qualify in all stages. |

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. Recruitment of IPS posts are filled by Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC.
The exam is conducted once in every year by UPSC. To apply for this exam, you can apply through UPSC Online portal. For Civil Services Exam of 2018, you can apply between 7 February and 6 March, 2018. Examination will be conducted on 3 June 2018. Firstly, Preliminary Exam will be conducted. Then, qualified candidates of Preliminary exam will be invited for Main exam. Finally, Personal Interview will be conducted for Main exam qualified candidates. |
