i am final year eee student. i will be writing the gate exam this year. and i don't know exactly how to prepare for this exams and the kind of books which i should be referring. and i have a question about this exam. what is the main objective of clearing the gate exam. is it for further study in my field or is it that it provides better job opportunity?

gate will add extra advantages to ur career oppurtunities are:- Qualifying Gate will hep you to pursue doctorate program in your choosen branch, you will be eligible for JRF(junier research fellowship) award.
you will be eligible for pursueing M.TEC in any leading institution. there is also scholarship benifit provided.
Gate scorecard is valid for 2 years.

dear Friend, getting GATE score is required for both higher studies and job. for higher studies you know it well and in conpmany like Indian oil you need GATE score to get job. you may refer HADDA for GATE exam.

how to pursue M.Tech after B.Tech . What is the duration of M.Tech . What is Gate . What is the validity of gate score card . Can i pursue my M.Tech in abroad . What is the facilities there .

Now you are studding b.tech 3rd year .

you are write in this year you get , details about this entrance exam.

And the GATE entrance exam you are qualify then you can use up to 2 years validity.

that is you are completing your b.tech you are eligibility for same rank.

sorry, a 3rd year Btech student is not eligible to appear in the GATE exams .

for GATE 2012 the criteria for appearing in GATE exam is

1.Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programmes.

2. pre final year students are not eligible to appear in the GATE 2012 exams.
