Dear Friend,

It will not create any problem but you will be treated as a Engine Room Rating.

I do not know why you did this course being a BE in (ME)? Minimum qualification to complete Rating course is Matric.

It would have been much better if you choose Graduate Engineering Conversion (GEC) program. If you do this course than your Mechanical degree will be converted into Marine Engineering. Thereafter you can join any shipping company of your choice as a 4th or 3rd Engineer.

If want to know more about this, you can contact Merchant Navy Counselling Center situated at Naraina New Delhi at +91 9958250174.

Regards,

Ramjash
