The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has not set any standards regarding percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, neither the institute has limited the course for students with particular combination of subjects or stream. So, basically, it really doesn't matters how much marks you score in your qualifying examination, in any subject, until and unless you have qualified the +2 level of examination form a recognized board.

The Common Proficiency Test can be taken by students from any background, with or without mathematics or accountancy or any other specific subjects.

The Common Proficiency Test is based on four subjects:
  • Fundamentals of Accounting
  • Mercantile Law
  • General Economics
  • Quantitative Aptitude

The test comprise of a total of 200 marks and in order to qualify, one has to score a minimum of 100 marks, i.e. 50%. Candidate who score 140 or more are declared as Pass with Distinction.

For any other information, refer to the official website of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
