Am I medically fit to join Indian Navy in Technical stream if undergone through a Laser surgery in both eyes?


Hello Sir,
I had undergone Laser surgery for both of my eyes.
But I am normal now. Am I medically fit for joining in
Indian Navy for Technical branches?

There are entrance exams which are conducted all over India for candidates to join in various branches in Indian Navy and there are certain qualifications which you possess in order to be eligible. The most important would include such as the Physical standard. The candidate who is appearing for the exam should be physically fit in order to join in Indian Navy.

As per the eye standards, having undergone laser surgery there are less chances of getting into Indian Navy, but you can check yourself if you are eligible by satisfying the eye standards needed which is mentioned below:

If you have fulfill below given criteria then you are eligible for Indian Navy exam.

Eye sight for Indian Army =
  1. Uncorrected without glass – 6/12
  2. Corrected with glass – 6/6
  3. Limits of Myopia – 3.5
  4. Limits of Hypermetropia – +2.5
  5. Binocular vision III
  6. Limits of Colour Perception I

Eye sight for Indian Navy =
  1. Uncorrected without glass: 6/6
  2. Corrected with glass: 6/6
  3. Limits of Myopia: -0.75
  4. Limits of Hypermetropia: +1.5
  5. Limits of Colour Perception: I
  6. Binocular Vision: III

Eye sight for Indian Air force =
  1. Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other
  2. Correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia
  3. Colour vision CP-I
  4. Hypermetropia = + 2.0 D Sph
  5. Manifest Myopia = Nil

Sir, My both eyes have -6 number of myopia after undergoing lasik operation or by other operation now my eyesight is now normal am i eligible for any wing of defence services and if eligible then for which wing please reply .
