sir my eye power -4 and i am desperate to join merchant navy . i just want to know if i undergo laser surjery then i can apply for merchant navy or not?

yes,you can join merchant navy after undergoing laser surgery.
you can join as deck cadet after surgery, though marine engineers can wear spectacles for eyesight up to plus/ minus 2.5.

But colour blind candidates are not allowed,so take a pre-checkup for that.

Yeah you can go for Laser Surgery.

But remember before joining to Merchant Navy your Operation must be at least 6 months old.

And also you must not suffer from any problem which may hinder in your way to Duty.

if your age is less than 20 yrs. donot go for laser surgery just for lust of money
as eye power can increase again upto alarming levels which can spoil your future completely....

the person must not be color blind
laser surgery is not a problem

Candidates who have undergone laser technology is eligible to enter Merchant navy but the operation should be conducted before 6 months .Those who opt for navigation cannot wear spectacles.For other areas candidates with eyesight up to +/- 2.5 can wear spectacles.Aspirants should not be more than 20 years.

Yes you can join the Merchant navy after getting the corrective surgery done.
After the surgery you must have 6/6 vision, otherwise you wont be eligible.

any other means then you will be applicable.

so no needs to worry.

it is not so important. but one thing have to keep in your mind the candidate should not be color blindness.if you are suffering form any other eye disease it may remove by operation but before 6 months.
or you may use spectacle in +/- 2.5 .

you can appear for this exam after laser surgery if only if you have operated your eyes at least 6 month before of examination.
your age limit must have not over 20 years.

i am interested to join in marine engineering after completion of my b.tech(mechanical engg.).i want to know, what are the mecical and physical tests for that and where these tests are to be done.
please give adresses of where the physical and medical tests are to be done.
